Snake Id

I was hiking last Friday on the Tongue Mountain Range in the Adirondacks by Lake George, and came across this curled up snake. Can anyone ID the snake type? Thanks for your assistance.

Based on the broad triangular shape of the head and rough scaling, I'd agree that it appears to be a northern timber rattlesnake. (But I aint an expert either!)

Does that mean Avroair is dangerous when he shakes his tail? :D
