Problem With Com Port And Foretrex 201

Hi,

I have a Foretrex 201 together with the correct serial cable.

All the time my PC and the Garmin understood perfect via COM port. With G7ToWin all went fine for backups and uploads.

 

Now I only get several error reports (on two different computers) like:

 

"Serial Port Timeout" or

 

"AsyncInit1;port;COM1;Error5-Access iss denied" or

 

"Garmin Initialisierung Timeout"

 

I even updated the Garmin software on the 201 (now version 2.4). But this also did not help at all. But it proved that the cabel does work.

 

Of course the settings in the GPS are correct: Garming-interface and WGS84.

 

Also with otther software like Easy GPS or GPSTrans same problems.

 

Does somebody has a good tip for me? Thanks in advance and sorry for my unperfect english.

Do you have a PDA? Some hotsync program will grab the com port at startup and you have to manually shut them down. Also the same with any other programs that use the com port. - only one program can be active at a time.

No, no PDA available. No other programs which need the COM port in parallel.

In the COM setup and hardware profile all is fine.
