+Rebel Alliance Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Just bought a HP 2110 for £200 brand new. Fair enough it was from PC World who I hate with a vengence but hey If it saves me £35 then I will prostitute my morals & principles. Has anyone found them cheaper? Paperless caching here we come. Now just to sort out the paperless toilet!
+Snosrap Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 I love PC World... Last year I bought a PC for my mother whom I thought would appreciate the peace of mind of being able to physically take the unit back to a shop if anything went wrong. The salesman pressurised me into taking an extended warranty including taking £50 off the price and including a printer and consumables at no extra cost (this was a £499 system). The receipt showed that he had put the warranty through at £50 and discounted the rest. I took the offers, then returned a week later to cancel the warranty (as is my right under the 'cooling off' period conditions), got refunded £50 and kept the pc, printer and goodies!!

Built in WI-FI was the selling point for me, but I did tend to buy pretty much the first pocketpc I seen without much research. Happy so far. Strange thing is that they have this EXACT model listed no less than 3 times under different item numbers all at vastly different prices.

+Alibags Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 ... and the only bit of that film that was even remotely interesting. Co-incidentally, in ye olde mediaeval times, they did in fact use mussel shells as a handy scraper for... well, I will leave it to your imagination.

You seem to attract stories about s**t

The 2 memory slots also sold it. sorry not a demolition man quote but a microsoft one! Senior executive from MS 'The paperless office is about as practical as the paperless toilet!' +macroderma Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Sory to go OT but i am looking for a cheap laptop to run autoroute and GSAK on when out and about anyone know of any Morgan have a good reputation They sell refurbished/end of line electronics, and also have 'specials' from time to time They have showrooms too, so you can inspect the goods, rather than relying on a description on a website http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk
Remote Part Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 IT Dealers have some good deals on older laptops. And they have a very good reputation (on newsgroups etc) so you can believe what their website says. I've ordered a few things from them without problems.
