+BuckBrooke
I've created an Indoor Benchmarks webpage. It includes stations that people have reported in this forum, emailed me, or that I've found. There are 80 stations so far. My criterion for including stations is anything that has a roof/dirt/stuff over it. It includes stations inside buildings but not on their front steps. Stations in tunnels, dams and other earthworks are included. The underground mark of a normal aboveground station is not included. More submissions are welcome, including those those from official NGS sources, as well as discs/stations not in the NGS system. Edited July 7, 2005 by BuckBrooke Quote Link to comment
+deimos444
Is it possible to tell from the Benchmark data sheets if the mark is above or below ground? Quote Link to comment

+BuckBrooke
Deimos44, I don't think belowground marks are clearly pointed out. The altitude won't always tell you, obviously. Quote Link to comment
holograph
Often the description will note if the mark is underground, but there doesn't seem to be a formal way of describing underground marks. Quote Link to comment
+Spoo
BuckBrooke, I am posting these two as possible additions to your Indoor Benchmarks page. The call if these fit your criteria, is yours, of course. I have given up finding these. I have made several attempts and on one had three helpers. I believe them to still be here. OC0569 OC0570 Quote Link to comment

+piper28
I see you have a bunch of the marks on the arizona side of the hoover dam, but don't seem to have any of the ones from the nevada side. I know from looking there are several listed on the inside. Unfortunately this was stuff I was looking at several days ago, so I can't remember which benchmarks they were . They do show up in the clark county searches for nevada though. Quote Link to comment
Z15
I notice you have one mark in Michigan but OL0131 is in Wisconsin, home of the Brewers, Beer and Harley-Dvidison. interesting site.... Quote Link to comment
+BuckBrooke
As to the Milwaukee error, I need to chat with the trained monkeys that enter data into the tables. That's what I get for outsourcing. In regards to the Arizona vs. Nevada issue, I'll look more closely. I may have missed some stations. Update: there are 3 indoor marks in the Hoover Dam and another one in Las Vegas that I found. Thanks for the heads up. Has anyone else ran across errors in the page, or more indoor stations? I'm talking with the NGS about a few things, and working on a few more pages of different info. More to come. Edited July 13, 2005 by BuckBrooke Quote Link to comment
+Pioneer 'n' Tiff
I'm waiting on the arrival of my property from Australia before I go introduce myself to the astronomy team in relation to these benchmarks. Apparently most of them are away for summer. ( DC1456 DC1456 DC1470 Quote Link to comment
+BuckBrooke
Thanks, Pioneer. They're added to the list. As a quick note, I am also a member of the "Geocacher w/ knitting accomplice" club. Quote Link to comment
2oldfarts (the rockhounders)
BuckBrooke, We sent you a PM with one to remove from your list & 3 to add. The one to remove is not in the tunnel going to the base of Glen Canyon Dam, but outside it. The 3 to add are in Utah. Zion National Park to be exact. The PM has all of the info. +BilboB
In the MY0581 logs someone noted this USGS mark on the ticket counter on the inside of the Boston Museum of Science. Not sure if it qualifies, but I have seen the mark as well. Quote Link to comment
+BuckBrooke
I've probably walked by that disk 100 times, back when I used to visit the Museum. I've added it to the list, as well as some more submissions and mostly data searching by me. There's 174 or so stations now. Quote Link to comment
