+GPScooterphish Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 How 'bout one of those oval decals for the back of your Benchmarkmobile (1958 Edsel Roundup or otherwise)? Being a newbie geocacher/benchmark hunter, when I saw the "B M" sticker, benchmark wasn't the BM I immediatedly thought of.... Quote

ArtMan Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Being a newbie geocacher/benchmark hunter, when I saw the "B M" sticker, benchmark wasn't the BM I immediatedly thought of.... Yes, many will immediately think of the large initials placed on the mountainside above the town of Battle Mountain, Nevada. The town was annointed by humorist Gene Weingartein in the Washington Post a few years back as the 'Armpit of America." (The ubiquitous Me & Bucky logged LR0722 earlier this year, capturing some excellent if drab Battle Mountain beauty shots in their log.) Quote

Bill93 Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Holograph's quote is one of the better ones as an inside joke, as was the RM1-> Stupid one. Neither is going to improve your public image. Roger's idea that started the thread is maybe the only one I'd want the deputy sheriff to see as he pulls up behind my car while I'm digging in the ROW fenceline. Quote
