+Yeshua's Girls
Is there a way to take waypoint coordinates and have a program "map" them with zoom/pan capability (similar to finding a geocache)? I know if I am on a geocache page and I click on "map" I can pan and zoom. What I want to do is be able to enter coordinates and get the same featuer. Thanks! We're still new at benchmarking! mapjunkie
I use MS Streets & Trips for this - I'm sure other similar mapping programs have the ability to plot entered coords. I'm also sure everyone else will have their own favorite method. It takes a bit of massaging to get the numbers in the correct format (decimal minutes in GC v. decimal degrees in S&T), but there are tools out there such as GeoCalc, jeeep.com that make this fairly painless. - (yet another) Matt Quote Link to comment
+Kewaneh & Shark
If it's just one coordinate you're looking for, Topozone is one of my favorite sites to use. For more points at the same time, the mapping software that is used by your gps should do the trick as well. Magellans use MapSend Streets and it does a reasonably good job of mapping multiple points. - Kewaneh Quote Link to comment

ArtMan
Some folks have developed ways to add your own locations to Google Maps, while maintaining pan and zoom capabilities. It was a little more than I wanted to play around with, so I didn't investigate too deeply, but here's a blog with some info, and if you google "hacking google maps" you'll get other links. -ArtMan- Quote Link to comment
+Old Bill
If your targets are out in the middle of nowhere, you can use National Geographic's Topo! to plot waypoints. I recently sent a whole bunch of them at once via GSAK. What was interesting was that a good potion of those followed old RR track lines. It's very useful to see where the waypoints are in relation to major roads, towns, etc. Really though, with software, the possiblities are endless. HTH Quote Link to comment

+bicknell
Note that google maps now has an API which makes it a lot easier (and more legal!) to use. I haven't had time to play with it yet. Quote Link to comment
+cpnkr
I've come up with a method to display Geocaches with Google Maps using an AJAX model...check out how: http://www.cplee.org/archives/000092.html Casey Quote Link to comment
