+Red_Cedars
I've found several vertical control marks based on the description that were originally reported with scaled coordinates. I generally will take a reading with my hand held GPS on the mark. Should I be including these coordinates with my find report? What if the site does not meet the requirements for satellite recording, but I still get a decent fix? Is it worthwhile to include this data in a report? R_C Quote Link to comment
+seventhings
Red - I think it is worthwhile to include your handheld coordinates in both Geocaching logs and NGS recovery reports, if for no other reason than to aid future hunters/users in finding the station. When I report my handheld coordinates in NGS recovery reportrs, I convert the DD-MM.MMM format used in Geocaching to the DD-MM-SS.SS format used in NGS. I report handheld coordinates for marks with scaled horizontal coordinates only. Will Quote Link to comment
