Mag Compass

I'm interested in getting a GPSr with built-in mag compass. But the ones (Garmin) I've looked at so far have me choking on the price. How cheap can I go and still be happy with the rest of the unit?

301 uses a joystick button which I am not real found of. I am not really a fan of built in compasses and really like having a good magnetic compass with me like my Brunton or Silva. Orienteering is still a big part of this game here in heavy tree cover areas. Good luck with your search! ImpalaBob

Ditto. I can't ever forget to bring extra batteries for my Brunton.

I carry a separate analog compass as well. It helps to take the bearing and do a sighting and then head that way. Also it never runs out of power like a GPSr builtin compass.
