tencupjava
We found our first coin today. It is just a wooden coin stating the web page of geocaching.com. Has no tracking number. Is this an actual coin or just a treasure? Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
Yes. Coins vary. What did you really want? I haven't found many wooden coins, and the few I have were not geocaching sig items. Quote Link to comment
tencupjava
I didn't make myself very clear. Since it was NOT a "minted" coin, I wasn't sure if it was considered a "coin" or if it was a token calling card to advertise the website. Sorry for sounding disappointed! I'm not!!!! +Ed & Julie
Well...it's not an "actual coin"...you can't spend it anywhere. What you found sounds like a signature coin...a wooden nickle that a cacher has made (or has had made) to leave in caches. You can leave it, keep it, or trade it. I myself also have wooden nickles printed up with our name and web site them. I collect then when I find ones others have left. Hope this helps! Ed Quote Link to comment
