I have a similar question. If a multi's last spot has been changed, does it count as a find if you redo the 3rd micro and final?

I wouldn't. But you can ask the owner if its OK with him. If it is, then go right ahead.

Maybe the system could use provisions for logging maintenance & return visits & such.

I may go back to Tott I Taw a Putty Tatt to replace the outer bag (it's wholly holey. but not holy, so I will replace the bag with similar type & color).

I'll be returning there so my wife & kids can find it, and may give them hints if they get stumped just so they can gain the practice.

My wife will log it, but I can see situations where I will be jogging by it a few times a week, and if I see that no one has found it for awhile, I can check & report status.

Maybe the system should have provisions for "General Notes" where you report a visit but don't get credit for it as a find.

I can still go back & edit my find entry since it is a recent one.

It already does. When you log a visit you have the option of selecting what type of log, a find, no find, etc. One of those options is a simple note.
