+Team_Tramper Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Still looking forward to seeing some race TB in the EC - if I recall correctly only 2 have zipped through here. Speed services - now only R37.50 Quote
+GlobalRat Posted May 12, 2006 Author Posted May 12, 2006 Speed services - now only R37.50 That's not cricket! Open to interpretation, but in the spirit of TB racing I hope we don't see anymore of these, there's been one! Quote
+warthog Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 I was thinking of establishing a "Stargate" cache here in South Africa, but due to the number of users around, I don't think it has merrit yet; Maybe I am wrong, but that should be a different topic. However, how would a Stargate affect our Travel Bug Race? Quote
+GlobalRat Posted May 12, 2006 Author Posted May 12, 2006 I was thinking of establishing a "Stargate" cache here in South Africa, but due to the number of users around, I don't think it has merrit yet; Maybe I am wrong, but that should be a different topic. However, how would a Stargate affect our Travel Bug Race? I see a stargate as a legit mechanism as it is part of the game. Posting of TB's in a race outside of this would be frowned upon. However stargates are generally used for overseas travel. We had this discussion late last year and some folks were going to concentrate on some TB hotels..... mmmmmmm Quote
+warthog Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 For local use only, can I then call it a "TaxiGate" in stead of a Stargate. Quote
+GlobalRat Posted May 15, 2006 Author Posted May 15, 2006 Dude has violated Rule 16 of the Race. Points for visiting controlling flight will not be allocated for the visit on 15/05/2006. Quote
+geocacher_coza Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Seems like my bugs race is over! It is now stuck with TOXICSOX since 8/03/06 and it is not being released! Maybe this is just a plot mmmmmmm.........I wonder............. Quote

Maybe this is just a plot mmmmmmm.........I wonder............. Oh dear. Anyone know Toxicsox? Doesn't seem to be particularly active. Bit rude of someone to make off with a well marked TB. Seems he/she has cached with clifford & donovan see if you can track this cacher down through them, although they're not that active either, but perhaps some of the local Capetonians have had contact with them. +QFC Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Hey, I sent a mail to him about 3 weeks after he picked up the TB... Check out below for furthr details. Hi There. Sorry , work has gotten the better of me. Will place it asap. Once again Sorry.... +Noddy Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Lift Offered !! I will be in JHB on the 29th May - 1st June 2006 and then going back to DBN. Two weeks later I am heading down to CA. I will be staying close to Hearth & Light in JHB. Any TB's wanting a lift must give me a shout. Quote
+GlobalRat Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 Well there you go geocacher_coza... bit of prompting and some action. Herewith the reply I received from Toxicsox I cant apologise enough, i have now finally planted it. Sorry ! Toxicsox Quote
+batsgonemad and his squirrel Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Greetings people, I neeeeeed to call on all the friendly people up north, DUDE is presently at Shakespears garden and i need to bring him home to Dbn so if somebody could pleeeeeeese pick him up and place him in Heath and light so that Noddy can bring him home, all before the 29th PLeeeeeeeeese Quote
+geocacher_coza Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 (edited) Thanks Globalrat! Thanks Toxicsox! Now can the TB get a move on! I wish i could get out there and do some caching myself soon! Being in bed for weeks now is getting to me Edited May 22, 2006 by geocacher_coza Quote
+anlufu Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Another lift offered: I shall be travelling from George on the 1st of June to Bloemfontein and then onto Pietermaritzburg and then back again on Sunday the 4th of June. Any TB's needing moving?? Quote
+GlobalRat Posted June 5, 2006 Author Posted June 5, 2006 Seems like some TB's are starting to make moves... Speed Wobble's position started to look a little wobbly. Quote
+QFC Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 You are just jealous... Not to fear! Speed Wobble will soon be travelling to Botchebello and then onward to the fair Cape who supposedly had a fantastic day of weather today. Quote
Bjbez Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Any help to get TB Kayak Racer back to Gauteng will be much appreciated! It looks like the road to the Eastern Cape goes through here. Thanks! Quote
+QFC Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 At least one road to the eastern cape goes through Joburg, via Burgersdorp - This weekend in fact, I might just pay a visit to Magnanimous before I go and see which bug is worthy... hehe. Looks like hardly any bugs have been to PE. Part 3 of QFC Quote
+GlobalRat Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 There’s a good chance I may travel to Botshabelo this coming weekend which means I could drop off some race bugs in the area and perhaps collect Speed Wobble. Quote
+QFC Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Ok, I get it... so where do you want that Rooster to go ... hehe Just kidding, would love for Speed Wobble to be picked up, and I will see about that Rooster Charlie from QFC Quote
+anlufu Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I shall be travelling from George to JHB and back on the weekend of the 14th - 16th of July. Any TB's need a lift? Quote
+batsgonemad and his squirrel Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Greetings people. Can anybody assist DUDE from shangri la to PE and back to Capetown, he seems to be stuck there now and i would love for him to make it to Capetown. There are many kind people out there whom i know want to help this poor surfer dude. Quote
+warthog Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 While you are there (at Shangri-La), Rumpus Compass would like to move as well Quote
+Noddy Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I wonder if the Rat is prepared to offer an incentive to get the rooster to move from Lower Virgin Bush? Not that there is much left after my Jack Russell got hold of him. Quote
perdix Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 We will be heading down the Garden Route on Saturday - not sure of the final arrangements, but am hoping to rescue some bugs from Cape Town and bring back to PE. If any bug owners have special requests then large bribes will be accepted, alternatively we'll grab what we can and deposit in PE. I see that Machu Pichu (?) Flute is near PE, would have loved to take him to CT, but wont get to him before the weekend. Anyway Vespax is no stranger to the EC, and will probably move the bug himself. Quote
+warthog Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 (edited) If anyone gets near Worcester, Shail Trail, please retrieve Rumpus Compass and maybe this guy can move towards the EC. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink Edited August 2, 2006 by warthog Quote
+Team_Farmers Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Hi All, We'll be in Cape Town from the 6th - 11th August, before flying back to Joburg. If any bugs need a lift up north, just let me know times & locations. Cheers Quote
+QFC Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Back to the topic at hand... Noddy has been working hard at keeping the racing TB movements up to date. Currently this is what their tracks around the country look like... You can check select the google earth map with all of the TB stops or per TB at Track the 2006 TB Race. After a long run at the top of the milage ranking Speed Wobble has been topped by that Rabbit Rooster who has now travelled 4869.84 km in South Africa. Speed Wobble follows at 4561.40 km. The above map was pulled from All TBs in the race Enjoy the race Quote

perdix Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I'd love to help the TBs outside Cape Town, but my time for caching is limited. If DUDE & Rumpus could find their way to Cape Town before Monday then I will do my best to get them to PE. Quote
+warthog Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Please help Rumpus get to Cape Town, I will pay bribes if necessary. Quote

perdix Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 (edited) Well we had a fun, if rushed, trip to CT. Managed to find a balance between caching and other holiday activities. Also managed to grab Scallywag, who will now be placed in PE. Thanks to Discombob for suggesting other quick caches and meeting us for lunch - sadly the weather was about to turn for the worse, so not much caching. Also sadly, I could not get to the other race TB's , hope they find their own way! Edited August 9, 2006 by perdix Quote
+The Huskies Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Please help Rumpus get to Cape Town, I will pay bribes if necessary. The Huskies will do a run up to the cache and safe this guy and drop him off at Top Billing Quote

+Tricky Vicky & Mickey Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Our Timothy, the genetically modified tortoise, has been in the Basin from the 30th July - are none of those rather special KwaZulu Natal cachers going to move him on for us ??????? Quote
+batsgonemad and his squirrel Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 My surfer boy has been dealt a cruel blow, totally below the belt he was placed in Stoddard's demise by Team TGF. So this has him shouting for HELP Please can someone help him, I fear his chances are diminishing with the blow he has been dealt. So for the love of caching somebody please help the guy out so he has a chance. Quote
+QFC Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Mu Hu ha ha ha, Suffer oh' durbanite from the great sandpit. Speed Wobble was stuck in that cache for a while. Me thinks this is a perfect opportunity for a trip up to JHB!!! Enjoy the riddle detective. Quote
