imzadi
For our honeymoon my boyfriend and I were planning on geocaching around the midwest area. We've never done this, but are planning on getting a GPS unit from my mother as a wedding present. How would I go about deciding which caches to do to? Plotting a course I guess you could say. Any tips would be really welcome! Quote Link to comment
+clatmandu
If you know the zipcodes of the cities you're going to be in, you can plug those in under 'Find /hide a cache'. this will give you all the caches within a 100mi radius of each zipcode. Hope you have good weather for your wedding and honeymoon. Quote Link to comment
magellan315
I'd also reccommend that you do a few pre-honeymoon caches so you can get the ahng of looking for caches and be prepared for any surprises. Quote Link to comment

+infosponge
Aww, just hide some caches in the hotel room and don't worry about anything else. Quote Link to comment

+Smokehouse
Congrats on the upcoming nuptuals!! Almost there myself Once you know where you are staying, I would get the zipcode of that area and search for caches by zip code. Each cache page will show you a map of that particular cache ie. a mapquest map. I would use that map to determine just how far away the cache is from you two. You can do this for each place you visit. As far as deciding which ones to do, looking on a map to see where they are may eliminate a few for you but I would just read through some of the logs and try and get a "feel" for the cache. Did folks have a good time finding it, should you bring anything, is it still there etc... The cache logs can sometimes give you a little bit more info! Good Luck on the Cache Hunt and the Marriage! +mrcpu
I'd recommend getting MS Streets and Trips and then Geobuddy (www.geobuddy.com). You download the cache information from the site and use geobuddy to combine the .loc files and save them as a .csv file. In S+T you use the Data->import option to bring all the caches you are going to visit into the program a push pins. Now you will be able to zoom in and out and view all the roads to get to your locations! Once you've done that you can even use the S+T route plotting capabilities to setup a trip and print out all your turns and your itinerary! Rob Mobile Cache Command Quote Link to comment

Your so romantic! I wouldn't even do all that in my spare time. Whatever you do, enjoy your Honeymoon together and don't make "set in stone" plans or spend hours at a computer figuring out how to find geocaches. If you want to find a few...fine, prepare before you go, but keep it simple. You will have the rest of your lives to geocache together but only one Honeymoon. Enjoy it.
