  1. Fizzy - Process sounds about right for a really good puzzle. I have no idea how many hours it took me to put together "SBS - You're in a World of Hertz" (GC2G604). At a guess, from concept to completion, probably 60 hours+, and I already had the necessary bits and pieces to put it together in-house. It's a multi that contains a number of field puzzles. It rarely gets found, but apart from my original beta tester (your 'Playtesting' is a very important step, especially for complex puzzles), who was still in a daze when he logged it, it has 100% favorite points.
  2. Here's A LF Pantry in Australia. https://www.facebook.com/ascotvalelittlefreepantry/ I would worry about leaving bread in it, unless there is someone taking daily care of it. Here's some links to those in America. Maybe there is more than one group: Blessed Boxes & LF Pantries: https://www.sbs.com.au/topics/life/culture/article/2016/08/02/little-free-pantry-one-communitys-way-helping-people-need https://www.facebook.com/littlefreepantry/ Here's the only one I have seen. It's in Canberra where I live. It was well stocked when I saw it. There's a cache in the LFL beside it, and I was visiting that and also dropping off a book. https://the-riotact.com/little-pantries-have-canberra-origins-down-a-quiet-neighbourly-street/284697

  4. Would the person who has an issue with me and my caches, and who has now stolen at least 15 of them, please grow a pair and get in touch with me directly so we can work out the issue? Kind regards SBs
  5. Source? You talking about the StoreDot article? There are certain physics rules that won't be denied. In order to charge that quickly, their battery chemistry will still require that the cell/battery device and charger utilize conductors capable of handling an ENORMOUS amount of current. Should be entertaining to see how that is managed. Assume device is 2000mAh. Charge in 30 seconds, and assuming 100% efficiency = 2A x 120 = 240A. Nah The Feed, a news show on SBS. Their site is sbs.com.au, though you'd need to watch a half our show for the segment, whichw asn't very long, but SBS news is pretty reliable.
  6. Here's one on my "to do" list: SBS - You're In a World of Hertz http://coord.info/GC2G604
  7. I believe you need to look here! http://www.klepper.com/en/folding-kayaks.html The SBS use them, so you know they're great. A tad pricey though.
  8. I don't begin to use the full capabilities of GSAK - I use it only to combine all of my PQ files into one for the "local" work, and to do comparisons of my PQ and a friends if we decide to cache together (using a "macro"), and -- my biggest reason for using it -- to change that appearance on my 450 of cache info. To do the appearance change, I've fiddled with it a few times, but this is what I've come up with as my working version at the moment. I'll then explain how it appears on the GPS ... Once I have loaded my PQs into GSAK, and before I use GSAK's "GPS"/"Send waypoints" feature to move them to my GPS, this is the "string" that I enter into GSAK's menu in the "Name" field to modify things on the way out: %drop2 %con1 %dif1a/%ter1a %last4 %name Now when I go to "Find Geocache", I get something that looks like this on my display for each cache in the list: 27ABC M 2/B FFFF and whatever part of the name will fit - usually just 1 letter The %drop2 just drops the "GC" off the front of the GC code. We all know it's there - no need to waste display space The %con1 gives the container size in one letter. "M" is for "M"icro. Could be "S"mall, or "R"egular or ... The %dif1a gives the difficulty in one letter. 1 = 1.0, 1.5 = A, 2 = 2.0, B = 2.5 etc The %ter1a gives the terrain in one letter, like the above The %last4 gives info about the last 4 logs. "F"ound, "N"ot found, "O"= some kind of note, etc. That's nice, because if you see "NNNN", it's either not there or a really hard cache The %name gives you the cache name. After all of that above, you usually can't see more than a character or two of it in lists. ALL of the above appear at the top of the information when you go to the Description of a cache on your 450. Here's a screen shot of the results. Way out at the right, all of the cache names start with "S" because they're part of the "SBS series"... So the first entry shows a traditional cache, GC1A4EW, micro, Difficulty 1.5 ("A"), Terrain 1.5 ("A"), four consecutive "Found" logs. The last entry shows a traditional cache, GC19QE3, micro, Difficulty 3.5 ("C"), Terrain 1.5 ("A"), and two of the most recent logs were found, and two not found. The description info for the last cache looks like this. As you can see, the cache's full name "SBS1 - Side Bet on 16?" appears here since there's room for it all: A snapshot of my GSAK screen follows. You can name the file being sent any way you like. If you want, you can also check "Yes" for "Include additional child waypoints" to send parking coordinates and the like.
  9. You could always try the SBS who are based in Poole (eek! I hope I haven't blown there cover).
  10. That's why I like to say something like, "I don't know for sure, but it seems to me that a reviewer should be made aware of this cache" (or something to that effect) with the SBS log. Posting the log in no way is an automatic archive. All you are doing is asking for the reviewer's attention. Don't think for one second that the reviewer won't ignore your log if everything seems to be in order! It's my opinion that 90% of the angst could be avoided if GC.com simply changed the title of the log from "Needs Archived" to "Needs Reviewer Attention". I am in TOTAL agreement with you there, with one small exception. It would soon be known commonly as an NRA log, and that might cause some unintentional problems with the extremists in the group. Well, that idea is shot to hell now.. Hey, you gave it your best shot. Yea, it's important not to go off half-cocked when considering this. Definitely, you don't wanna pull the trigger too soon.

I understand exactly what happens when I post one, but I do also feel that the wording makes it look like I am being heavy handed in my actions. It looks like I am declaring that a cache should be removed from the website, when in fact, all I am doing is trying to notify a reviewer that the cache needs attention. A good example is GC1H47P. A quick glance shows that it it should be a perfectly viable cache, yet a closer look at the last two find logs reveals that the cache has deteriorated to geo-trash. I would have no desire to go look for this cache unless I was on a mission to replace it for the absentee owner who participated in our sport for two weeks in late 2008. I have never been there and have no desire to do so with the cache in it's current condition, yet there are many here who are of the opinion that I do not have the right to bring the cache to the attention of the reviewer. I feel that I do.

  17. They're now showing as placed in March and April this year... Either that was some glitch in the system, or someone was playing SBs and a reviewer's spotted it! Or, as careygang said, someone was cracking under the strain, lol...!
