  1. I'm involved in a local scout troop and we are always looking at ways to have fun on camp outs. So one of the other leaders says well we could go geocaching. I say, "What's that?" He says, "something to do with finding stuff with a GPS." So we agree and I start doing some research. First site to come up in my google search was geocaching.com. Once I started reading about it I was pretty interested and I realized that I had my dad's Rino 120 that we had used a couple times hunting. So I pack up the wife and kids that same day and we go to find a couple. Boy did we get hooked! My kids love going "treasure hunting." I was totally amazed at all of the caches that I drove by everyday and had no idea! Needless to say on the camp out we found 7 caches in the area and hid my first. I've managed to get some of my family members involved as well. My brother is particularly good at staying just a couple of finds ahead of me...

    Friend's List?

Any idea on when something might be implemented? Even "very soon" or "in a couple years" would be sufficient. Just wondering... Thanks, pcsfrme

    Friend's List?

I was wondering if there was any plan to add a "Friends List" functionality of some kind. This would allow cachers to quickly keep track of their friends and see what caches they have hit, etc. Even just a list of Profiles that you want to keep track of, kind of like the "Watch this" feature for trackable items and caches.
  5. You can download the waypoints from geocaching.com but the only way to put the hints in would be to add them to the Note field for each waypoint. I use CacheMate on my palm pilot to keep track of the difficulty, terrain, description and hints for each cache. On my rino 120 I just show the waypoint and in the notes field I put the name of the cache. Works well for me.
