  1. Some rather crafty individuals have developed software to make .RMP maps for the Tritons. You can read more about it in this thread
  2. This is one of my caches, which is behind a hotel, and can be done anytime. It's a nice short walk.
  3. Yes, and I still do not know why. NO. Besides the post about the CAS, there were no questions asked. If there were, he would have answers, possibly even a direct contact with Maggie for a swift resolution. It does seem a little funny, doesn't it? Very true. Anything can happen. Besides an equipment failure, what if you drop it? I always have a backup, no matter how far I venture. Oh, I log my finds too.
  4. It would have been faster if I wasn't on a flight. I will not allow talk of a lawsuit on my forum. Period. There are plenty of other rants on the site that are still there, untouched, and commented on by me! He was banned for signing up and immediately talking lawsuit. If you need help working on an issue with the Triton, there is quite a bit of knowledge on the forum. If all you're there to do is bash a unit you've allready "thrown in the trash", we don't need you.
  5. The only thing I won't allow posting about is a class action suit against Magellan. That is why he was banned. There are plenty of complaints on the forum that are still there, as well as positive posts. If you want to discuss a lawsuit, do it somewhere else.
  6. Firmware can only be updated through VantagePoint. There is now an update available for the 200,300, and 400. Read about what it improves HERE.
  7. There is a firmware update available for the 200, 300, and 400 that fixes the nearest cache issue, as well as a few others. Read about it HERE.
  8. I posted this elsewhere, but it deserves to go here as well. There is an update for the 200, 300 and 400 models available. Read more about it HERE.
  9. Magellan has released a Firmware update for the 200, 300, and 400. Read more about it HERE. Other models are not far behind.
  10. No NDA, just mutual respect. My contact doesn't have to share anything with me, but he does, so I respect that. I asked before I posted these pictures. I got the green light, so here they are. BTW thanks for your work on GPSBabel, use it all the time!
  11. Paperless caching will be possible with the Triton: I'm beta testing an engineering build for the 2000 as we speak. Things are much improved!
  12. For those that are interested, Firmware updates for the 200, 300, 400, and 1500 will be out this week. This is direct from Magellan. No word yet on the 500 or 2000 units, but I DO know they are in final testing now. EDIT: The 200, 300, and 1500 updates are available, through VantagePoint. The 400 will be available later this week.
  13. They do not autoroute. The software that autoroutes was written for older models, so it's not compatible. I wonder when the new street maps are coming out?
  14. I'm trying to get RELIABLE information on what's exactly included in the "magic firmware update". I will post news as I get it.
  15. Ah. That would be why i've never seen that error before.
  16. Mine shows distance in feet. I remember it showing as far as 1700+ feet, instead of miles. I think you have to choose the right field.
  17. Look forward to hearing more. It was gettin' gloomy in here
  18. Bottom line- WE NEED OUR FIRMWARE UPDATE MAGELLAN!!!!!!! All of the issues can be fixed with the PROPER software!
  19. Great to hear it worked out Les. If anyone else has issues, i'm glad to help.
  20. Email me supporthelp@tritonforum.com and I'll get your info directly to Magellan.
  21. I have successfully transferred both Directroute, and Topo3D maps to the Triton! Read about it HERE
  22. I managed to get a Directroute map to upload to the Triton. Take a look HERE EDIT: Confirmed this also works with Topo3D
  23. There is NO new upgrade for the 2000. Still 1.14, which VantagePoint forces you to upgrade the first time you connect.
