What a coincidence! The very two wrecks I was thinking of are The Iberia and the Lizzie D.
There are quite a few shipwrecks in the NY/NJ area.

Perhaps we should make a plan for a weekend backpacking/geocaching trip for anyone who is interested?
How does sometime in late May sound - or perhaps early June? I understand that there is a possible Northeast Geocaching gettogether sometime in May too so we will have to schedule around that - no problem.
So are we looking at Harriman or the Catskills as two potential places to start with?
I might start a new thread to discuss the impending trip if there is sufficient interest in this joint geocaching/backpacking weekend trip.

How do you change the backround like that (really, I won't tell anyone else!)
Sounds like someone pushed the limits of thier dive profile to place this one!
You've got mail!

I am considering creating another scuba multicache for one of the many wrecks in the New York/New Jersey area. Stay tuned ....

If you look at my cache page, I leave explicit instructions on where the plaque is located. I dont want divers 'digging up the wreck' unnecessarily. Deciphering the Cheat underwater is NOT reccommended
As for the time it took to find a spot, I was concentrating on looking for a spot that can be easily found with minor problems. This may mean a few sweeps over a few places on the wreck.

For a while now, I have been thinking of doing my first 5/5 Terrain/Difficulty cache. Finally last weekend I accomplished it.
Feel free to place it on your Watch List.

Alluvial Material is your cache? Wow! Congrats for placing such a challenging cache. If I remember, I was the first to search ...and get stumped by it.
I must admit that I had doubts about its existance in the beginning as I was one of those cache newbies that tore up the place in the beginning.
I hope to venture out there soon to tackle it again soon but I am a WWW (warm weather wussie!).
I looked on the cache page today and someone isnt happy in not finding the extra prize you left behind...

Looks like a fun time for those who go.
Its being held this year at Killington in Vermont.
I went last year and, although I didnt win anything, it still was a lot of fun!

I know that Ebay uses various icon logos depending on the feedback of the buyers/sellers. I can see the same type of thing being quite appealing here ...
Whever they can do , we can do it bigger and better...

I like the idea that it starts at 100. Perhaps a 'bronze' colored mini Geocaching logo with 100 through the middle of it.. the same thing for Silver for 200 and Gold for 500.
and something else to be determined for the one that reaches 1000. I follow a few of the top cachers like BasoonPilot and Stayfloopy & CCCCooperagency and I would love to see some sort of recognition for the 1000 barrier being broken.
I know there will be a minor uproar on the so-called competitveness of this, but hey, you can ignore it if you want to!

Something I saw on CNN today....
Locator madness pervades plenty of devices
The best quote from the article.... ? "There are a lot of novel uses for GPS and everyone wants to put them on every Alzheimer's patient," said Will Strauss, a principal analyst with Forward Concepts.
Happy Anniversary, Stayfloopy!

In the world of GPS units with mapping capabilities, the Floopmeister still uses the trusty yellow Etrex for all his cache hunts.
Thats like Bill Gates still using a computer with only MS-DOS on it ....
