I can find by name i.e. FIND > WAYPOINT > MENU > FIND BY NAME I have my pointer in the cluster of caches when I'm trying this.

Yes, I'm using the closed treasure chest icon (only have 2, one open and the other closed, listed under Outdoors). I went through all the icons...

Hi All, Been doing this for a while but it seems like my 60CSx isn't working (most likely operator error). ON PC: Using GSAK (7.7.4.36) Importing my jzip files Then GPS > SEND WAYPOINTS ON GPSR Data/Caches are now on my 60CSx, I can see them.... I'll press; FIND > GEOCACHE > ENTER I get; NONE FOUND... Would you like to set up the geocaching options? I'll select; YES, on the Geocaching Symbols page press PAGE to exit. Then press; FIND > GEOCACHE > ENTER and get the same thing... I'm making due by finding waypoints Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ming

Thanks for the upgrades they are great!!! I'm noticing a minor discrepancy with my stats, wondering if anyone else is having an issue? System may just need to sync up... On my main profile page I see the following (correct) Premium Member Caches Found: 849 On the new stats page it's off by 1 Your Caching Chronology *You've found 848 caches (847 distinct) since your first cache find on 04/24/2003. Just wanted to let someone know. Thanks again! Ming -

Garmin Nuvi 265 Data Management Best Practices?
Ming replied to Ming's topic in GPS technology and devices
I do have another Nuvi question. With the device plugged into my PC, I'll open the Garmin / GPX/ Current.gpx file and delete 99% of the waypoints and save it. When I disconnect, power off/on, and reconnect and open the file again all the waypoints are back. Where is it pulling that data back from? I dug through the folder but came up empty.... Thanks, Ming -

I followed the directions as listed, unfortunately it craps out when in the POILoader. I get a: the file ...geocache tourguide.gpx is invalid. -
Garmin Nuvi 265 Data Management Best Practices?
Ming replied to Ming's topic in GPS technology and devices
NordicMan, Thanks for the info, the GSAK macro looks promising. Typically what I'll do is with easyGPS I just send my data to the 60 and to the 265 and I'm done. I'll manually delete caches from the 265 as hit them. What I like about the way I'm doing it now is that all GC's appear when I'm driving so if I see a P&G I'm on it. I've noticed when I used the POI loader, GC's aren't visible until you select one. Does that Nuvi macro address this so all GC's are always visible? I need to reinstall GSAK on my new PC and get it going. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks, Ming -
Hi All, I searched thru the forums and got some mixed answers. I have a Garmin Nuvi 265 (Love it), I use it in conjunction with my GPSmap 60csx kind of like my radar when I'm driving. Once something hits it, i'll use the 265 to get as close as I can to it then switch over to my 60. What I've been doing is copying my gpx file to the gpx folder on the unit. Also tried using the POI loader as well. Just want to know what y'all are doing... Thanks in advance for your help. Ming

Hi, Hoping someone here can help me out. Not getting accurate readings on my hand-held. If I have it on compass mode I almost have to go in the opposite direction that it showing same scenario with the map feature. I calibrate before I head out and still the same issue. I wanted to try and reset the unit to the factory defaults and was looking on how to do it. Hope you can help. Thanks, Ming

My data file is in: c:\gsak\data\me Exports go to (icons are here too): C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\GPS Stuff\POI Exports
-
You mean in the folder that I export to, correct? I also notice that regardless of the file name that I use to export it to i.e. MENH it defaults to other.
-
Sorry about that it's a Garmin GPS 60CSx The BMP's are in the correct format.

Hello, I'm downloading additional waypoints to my GPS. I'm using the following: • GarminCsvPoiExport_1.7.txt • CustomPoiIcons_1.2_1.4.zip • Premium membership at geocaching.com • GSAK • Garmin POILoader I'm following the instructions to the tee. I'm able to DL the waypoints bit the icons are just a DOT and not the CustomPoiIcons. Any ideas.... I believe the doc was by weedboer and he/she references to ProsperoDK/René Boe Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

For the warmer months I'm using my geobike, also looking to buy a Yaris, Corolla or Civic for the cooler weather, for the winter I have my Explorer. Right now if I'm using 4-wheels I'm not going out of my way, if I do I try and get as may caches in the area that I can.
