  1. ok, whew, I just read through all the post, and , well.....ugh. We were a pc family, now we are a imac family. We used to do all our geocaching using "stuff" for windows. We went on a geotrip this weekend and had to print out everything, because I am lost on how to re-learn the gpx stuff. "wintertimes" post was as close to help without too much confusion, but I do not have a Garmin. I have a Magellan Meridian gold, and a Palm.V What do I need to get? Lost, Lost, Lost...
  2. Bill- I'm trying to figure that out myself.
  3. Do I need to do something special with your proram to download the hints? The last 2 pocket Q, that I downloaded to my palm did not have the decript help.
  4. ....I want to make is log what you leave, so other cachers can make a knowledged decision. If you want to do a comdom discussion use "Cache Canucks" post and go there. If you want to discuss logging and item, and why people dont...then post here.
  5. First of all, I think it is rather strange and unsafe to leave a condom in a cache(we could talk about that forever). But with that aside, Why leave one and not log it? I take time before we go caching to check and see what kind of items are in a cache at the present time as well as try to look first before the kids when we get there.(I am usually looking for spiders, but have added condoms to the list.) If you dont log it, then others cachers are not warned, and can make a choice not to visit the cache, or remove it prior to the kids grabing it and saying "Mom is this candy?". My complaint is with condoms, but I think this should go accross the board with anything. If you leave a McToy, log it! If you leave a rubber snake, log it! If you leave $100 log it! (so we can all run eachother down to get it)
  6. Thanks all, after reading all that...whew lots of info. Are you all "closet weathermen"? The day this all happened we were using our recharchable batteries. That might have had a effect I guess, maybee recharchables are too touchy.
  7. Has anyone noticed a difference when they cache on a sunny day and then on a cloudy day? We tested this on a cloudy day with out Meridian Gold and the coordinates were so off, that we could not find the cache. I am wondering what effect the weather has on geocaching?
  8. Thanks everyone, after all this info, and reading other threads I am using gpx2html and plucker. It worked great with my caching over the weekend. And I am so happy not to be using my printer.
  9. yAy! Can't Wait to use that feature! I can only put so much info into my brain, so the more I can leave at geocaching.com, the better!
  10. We would love to see a way to "watch" other members, through "my cache page". Like maybe under the "manage watch list", have the option to make a "My User Profle Freinds list". Or something like that. The reason I say this is, we have family that geocach and meet some really great people caching but want a way to add them to a list. Even if the list would just take you to their user profile page.
  11. Thanks for this program, I am now using this!
  12. We are new to geocaching, about 3 weeks now. We have Magellian Meri Gold. As of now before we go out, I print out all the caches we want to visit on paper, then run around with all this paper mess. Its a pain, there has got to be an easier way. Will this Pocket Query Generator help? Which is the best to download? Any helpfull hints to slimline our adventures would be great!
