  1. I have had my screen freeze on start up one time since the update. It usually seems to happen after I load new maps or add a new .gpx file.
  2. I think I found another bug, after deleting the geocache visits file from my colorado my found geocache still show. Marking another geocache as found doesn't add to the geocache visit file on the colorado only, instead it creates a new one. I tried this a few times and get the same result each time. The only way I found to remove the found caches was to do a hard re-set. Anyone else getting these same results? --Ryan3295
  3. Downloaded the update for my 300 this morning and took it for a test run in the front yard. One thing that I noticed was the sensitivity to walking at slow speeds was greatly improved!
  4. How big is the download? I am afraid I might have to go for the disk option as I have slow internet connection.
  5. Opened my rock n roller wheel up, magnet is seated as it shoud be.
  6. Since I have started geocaching with my 300 I have notice that you have to move pretty fast (over 2 mph) to get the Colorado to update your speed and bearing pointer to the cache. I can easily move 20ft at a reasonable walking speed before the Colorado knows that I did. It seems that on my 60csx, legend C, and GPS V, it will update my speed and bearing while moving at a crawl (i.e. less than 1 mph). I would be interested to know if this has anything to do with the different chip sets? Or are other Colorado working better than mine. -Ryan3295
  7. I have had this problem with my Colorado twice, the rock 'n roller wheel will not respond at all. The wheel spins perfectly, except the navigation menus will not spin with it. Both times I a simple power down/ power up of the unit fixed the wheel issues. A call to Garmin tech support did not really help at all. They seemed surprised that this had happened as they have never heard of it before, and was convinced that the problem was from the rock 'n roller wheel not being seated correctly. They wanted my problem to occur a few more times before they would offer to replace my gps. I cannot be the only one to have this issue! This is my second 300 and I really don't want to keep replacing them every month. By the way I am running 2.51beta/2.6. -Ryan3295
  8. I have inland lakes version 2.0 and Minnesota lakemaster. The lakemaster depth contours far surpassed that of inland lakes, especially on lakes that have 1 foot depth contours. If you like in Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Michigan, I would say get the lakemaster. The only down side about the lakemaster is it does require an unlock code.
  9. Whether this is related to my update to 2.51 or not I don't know. But today after I turned on my Colorado I lost all function of the rock 'n roller wheel. It started to work as it should, after I turned the gps off and then back on again.
  10. I believe that is how my Colorado works! To take a picture simple hold the Right soft key and the image will appear in a folder on your Colorado.
  11. Another thing that I do not think has been brought up, you can now zoom in the 20ft on the map instead of 80ft.
  12. I have noticed now that after playing with the update for a few hours that when viewing the cache description and selecting options > Go To Location. The ability to choose Log Attempt or view the cache description is no longer available
  13. Here are some pics of what I am talking about: This shows all map data working fine. Here is an example of what I am talking about: Finally an extreme example: I agree that this could be a problem with the map tile segment limit, but does appear to be to random tiles that are not drawing.
  14. Which topo are you using? I saw something similar with Topo 3.0 loaded (not the built Topo 2008 I have on my 400t). Someone had indicated that there is a limit to the number of map segments a unit can display and that this was an issue on other Garmin handhelds as well. Setting the detail to most makes it more obvious because the basemap doesn't "take over" until you zoom out further so you can have more segments in your display than at the lower detail settings. GO$Rs I am using topo 2008. I don't believe that it could be from the map segments not being there, otherwise I when not see the topo data that was missing when I zoom back in.
  15. I dont have the option to insert a profile. But here are my steps I to took to delete a profile: shortcuts>others>profile change > options > setup profiles > highlight the one you want to delete> enter > then you should have the option to move the profile up, down, edit the name, and finally delete. Hope this helps.
  16. Barrikady- Did you make sure you don't have the profile you are trying to delete active. That is exactly what I was doing, as it seems after you create a new profile it is automatically the active one.
  17. Another problem that I discovered with my 300, is with the map detail set to most zooming the map out at over 20 miles on the scale, some of my map "chunks" from topo would not load. I can confirm that that are working as there are there when I zoom back in. I don't know if it will make any difference but I was panning on the map at the time. Anybody else able to replicate this? --Ryan3295
  18. I went out and bought an 8 gb card, hardly worth it considering that mapsoure will not compile a set of maps larger than 4.1 GB. I tested it on a few small maps and the card worked fine, however, I did bring it back and will be replacing it with a 4 GB card (they are a lot cheaper!!).
  19. Make sure you have the electronic compass turned off. You can do this by pressing and holding the page key from any map screen until you get the dialoge compass turned off, or compass turned on.
  20. I just upgraded my Colorado to city nav 2008, I told the unlock wizard that I was a new garmin unlock customer instead of an existing one, despite the fact I have unlocked several maps before. It work great for me!
  21. Can anybody figure out how to delete custom profiles? After creating one the only options I have are to edit the name, or to move it up or down in the profile list. The option is there to delete any of the six profles that came standard on my Colorado, what gives?
  22. Anybody else notice how bright the backlight goes when first connected to your computer?
  23. You could always check out http://www.tritonforum.com/ alot of information there!
  24. Found the tide stations after digging around the find menu. Press Find < Marine Points < Tide Station
