Click on your user name in the upper right corner of this page. Click on account settings. The second major heading in the center of that page is email address with a small "Change" to the right. Click on that and make your change.

There were things we wanted to do in and around downtown so we stayed in the central business district (don't remember the hotel) and took the bus to HQ
if you haven't already, you should check this out:

People have been doing it for years! Someone just this week reported there is a problem with the link, though.
Does it still work?
Susancycle tried that link two days ago and it did not work. It did work in October.

I have visions of Captain Clorox sulking in his lair bemoaning the fact that now mere mortals can erase threads.

BJMcFeet, thank you for coming here and telling us your father's part in the development of geocaching.
He provided the proof of concept for Dave Ulmer's idea, an idea that thousands of people around the world now enjoy.
Please tell your dad that I appreciate his important place in the history of geocaching.

The names in this old old thread bring back memories of a time when it was an effort to keep up, and a lot of good folks we haven't heard from in a long while.
True, sigh. Where's the sad button?

Oh no Malta is wonderful for it's amazing historical sites and geology. Sorry
I have added Estonia to my collection with 19 caches in Tallinn. Well, I did 20 but somehow managed to not fulfill the requirements for a virtual. So I deleted the log again. But really loved this short trip and could imagine spending my summer vacation in Estonia next year despite the lack of high temperatures.Great old town. Did you get a decent bowl of elk soup? 3 euros on 2015 and well worth it as we had just given the bicycles back after pedaling in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. We loved the vibrancy of the people, still reveling in their independence.

Do you have a bicycle? The 'Cycles have found number of geocaches in British Columbia that way.

PCS in 1972 resulted in me driving from Baltimore to Anchorage (in a Corvair.) The ALCAN in those days was over 1,100 miles of gravel road. My windshield was cracked by mile 7. When I got to Anchorage I was told my orders had changed so I had to drive 360 miles back north to Fairbanks.
If I were going today I would check out the caches at the south end of Lake Kluane (beautiful area.)

A recent HQ communications topic is headlined:
Scheduled downtime - Tuesday, April 5, 2023, 4:00 pm PDT
the post reads:
On Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at approximately 4:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time, Geocaching.com, Adventure Lab, Waymarking.com, Wherigo.com, and all related mobile applications, including 3rd party applications will be down for up to 30 minutes as we perform site maintenance.
I'm pretty sure the downtime will occur on Wednesday and I am not trying to nitpick. Just thought I'd post this in case any just saw the "Tuesday" part and skipped the rest.

Merged a duplicate thread. Our engineers are aware of this issue and hope to have a fix out soon. Thanks for your patience.
Thanks for the update. My update is that the situation has deteriorated again. I cannot delete caches from lists or delete entire lists again.
-
Something has changed. Yesterday (I test this regularly) I was able to delete one cache from a list. I was not able to delete any others. Today, I have been able to delete multiple caches (including more than one at a time) but I am blocked if I try to delete another within a few seconds. Will try to delete a list later today.

I have not been able to delete a list (any list) or an individual cache from a list (any list) for weeks. This has become a significant problem because I am already using the maximum number of lists so to create a new one I have to delete an old one. We drove an hour to a newly extended rail trail the other day and I wound up adding the caches along that section to an existing unrelated list (that functionality still works) so that they could be expeditiously added to my GPSr.
I would appreciate an update from GC on the issues raised in this thread, specifically whether the IT team has been able to recreate the problems in their test environment.

wow, so many nice new caching countries for all of you! Congratulations.
Me, I'm currently grounded. I tried flying from a sprint, and it didn't quite work out. so... um... I'm healing a fractured bone right now. Also had to cancel my after-Christmas Baltic Sea trip due to this. Had a very local (short walk from my home) event, and that's all.I am sorry to hear that you are injured and I hope you heal fully.
Just a gentle reminder to take the time to heal and do the work if physical therapy is indicated.
Remember, getting back to normal is a marathon not a....sprint

Well, that's it. I had one more mark that I hadn't logged onsite from our Florida/Alabama trip in November, PID AB4069. Nothing special, just a metal rod monumented in 1996. But it did have scaled location so the 'Cycles were able to add handheld coordinates to the log. I feel like someone that just carved my initials in a log on a bonfire that is about to be lit.

Or, just create a sock puppet account to hide caches that you find but then archive 30 days later. Less blood on your hands. The blood is on your socks. I recommend Clorox bleach for that.
A visit from the Captain! Nice to know you haven't retired to that big laundromat on the beach.
I just enjoyed a brief stroll down memory lane by reviewing some old posts by the chlorinated superhero. Unfortunately, despite the site indicating that there are three pages of his missives, only one can be accessed. I suspect that the other two pages were lost in the Off Topic purge.

On 12/5/2022 at 6:42 PM, Geocaching HQ said:We do appreciate the feedback shared in this thread, and understand how disruptive this change will be to benchmarkers. However, for the reasons stated in the original post and in subsequent posts by the Product Manager, we wish to confirm that we will remove benchmarking from the Geocaching.com website on January 4, 2023. This is slightly later than the original time frame, due to the holidays.
Given that the removal is going happen please consider placing all of the accumulated benchmark finds (and DNFs, etc) along with the associated photographs in offline storage. Surely the cost of that would be minimal in the current environment. Then if the opportunity and interest arose GS could build a new framework, update the database and reintegrate benchmarking back into the site as a vibrant part of the "language of location."
Remove benchmarking if you must, for now, but please don't foreclose the option to reinvigorate and reintroduce it when the cost to retain that option is relatively small.
