  1. Have you already made the trip? If not, I have a buddy out in San Jose... I can email you his user name if you're interested

    Maps

Okay, I just figured out the issue on the hybrid map. There's a checkbox attached to the "satellite" tab to show "labels".

    Maps

Any idea why the maps no longer have the "hybrid" option... the tab that shows streets on top of the satellite images? The tab seemed to have disappeared between 23:00 and 0:00 last night. And while on the subject... whatever happened to the map feature to have a pin mark at your coordinates? I don't know if that made it clear enough what I was asking... Basically, when you typed in an address or cords in the "Zoom To Address" box, there would be a checkbox if you wanted a red pin at that exact location. It's been a long while since I last saw that option, I just never got around to asking about it. The main reason I used it was to dial in my N and W before posting a new cache, so the satellite image would be dead-on. Now I'm having to use Google Earth. Anyway, let me know if either questions are unclear. Thanks AK-1
  4. I too am batting .500... I released a TB in Northern California, and it has been traveling happily (albeit slowly) around the area. A few weeks later, I released an identical one with (of course) a new dog tag in Southern California to have it disappear out of the first cache I dropped it in in Anaheim!
  5. I had the same problem with an order of ten about a month ago... I emailed GC and they told me to use "cacher" which worked with no problems
  6. don't post it, just PM it to someone mine worked fine the first time I entered it
  7. I am completely in that camp as well. I have NEVER seen the point in just "discovering" a TB or coin. I see people at events going around from table to table asking for the tracking numbers so they can discover for their stats. People bring coin books, just so others can discover...... why? Ooh, I get a stat bump! I only log TBs I grab, because I'm helping them on their mission... other than that, what's the point? Most people put thought into their TBs, and are watching them. I like knowing that I helped, and always try to at least type a little story up for the owner to read. But, that's just my 50th of a dollar, I guess
  8. do a TB search for "Red Jeep Travel Bug"
  9. I got mine! This is also my first contest bug.... so I guess I'll wait and see what the rules are
  10. gAAAAAHHH!!!!! Killer Rabbit! Run-Away! Run-Away!!!!! Sorry,, had a fit of Python there for a sec. Actually, the rabbit DOES Look quite angry. Thank you!!! I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought that! ~see my post on the first page of this thread~
  11. Had to take a container home once b/c a deputy rolled up in the parking lot before I could replace it. I brought it back the next day, though but.... that's not what you were asking
  12. lol... it's okay, I have the same prediction. Like I've been telling people... every series this post-season has been decided at home (Anaheim). They lost this one game to bring it back home for game five! To answer your question, no... I've never been to a Ducks playoff game. I'd really rather not have to sell my show car to buy the ticket. Actually, I was at the watch party for game three. They opened up the Honda Center for the fans to watch the game. I was wondering around before the game and stumbled across this disc. Thanks for the info, btw GO DUCKS!!!
  13. I was walking around geocaching near the Honda Center before a game when I just happened to look down and see a survey disc. I searched GC.com and Waymarking.com and couldn't find it. I don't really have a specific question about it, I just wanted to put it out there. "ORANGE COUNTY SURVEYOR BENCH MARK 1L-94-90" It's on the sidewalk roughly at 33.80623 -117.8740 I would give better numbers, but I don't currently have a GPSr. I used google maps to help me pinpoint this. If this is a wasted thread, please feel free to delete it... I just thought that it was cool that I just happened to be thinking about benchmarks at the same time I looked down and saw this guy
  14. Those are up there on my peeves, as well... but in speech, there is also "irregardless". Man that word drives me nuts! Note: OMG! My spellcheck isn't even catching that word as wrong!!!!!!!
  15. I'm reminded of Monty Python's Holy Grail
  16. Although I do appreciate you responding.... I'm not that nuts!
  17. This may sound like an odd request, but here's the skinny. If anyone has an Alaskan geocoin or geopin I would really like one.... or more To give the coin/pin an extra story, I'd actually like to have it start in Alaska and make its way down to me in California as a TB with instructions to forward attached. If anyone is willing to help me out, let me know a price... I'd be greatly appreciative! ~AK1
  18. I think I will try posting a new topic in the coins forum, asking... Thank you
  19. cool, thanks for the input.....
  20. I'm new to the site and geocaching in general as well. My friends took me with them last week on a hunt and that's all it took. In fact, my first find was this past Saturday. I just happened to remember the map on their computer the night before, drove right to the spot the next day and found the VERY small cache within a few minutes of looking.... actually, I remembered no other information besides the map, and still managed to find it I just found a virtual cache this afternoon on my way home from work.... so that's number two! And I have a nice list already set up for this weekend. I do have one thing I want to ask, though, before I post a new thread in the geocoins forum....being new around here, I'd rather not commit a faux pas so early on! Basic story, I grew up in Alaska (hence the SN) but was dragged away before I had a legal choice. I still love the state and like collecting items from. I would like to get an Alaskan geocoin. So, to the point, I would like to see if anyone would be willing to sell me one, but instead of having it sent to me, have it travel its way to me in California through caches.... would that be an odd request? ~AK1
