  1. I also have a Streetpilot 340. What I do is only load what I wat to find for the day directly to the unit from GSAK, that way I only have about 15 caches to deleate by hand which I do as I find the cache. The rest I create a .GPX file using GSAK then use the Garmin POI loader to install it into the unit. Whenever I want to change the GeoCaches I have on the unit, I just create a new .GPX file and again load it with the Garmin POI Loader.
  2. Cachmate just upgraded to v1.2.5 to address the problems with Windows Moble 6.
  3. The cable went on my Explorest 500 after only 3 months, for a week I thought it was the GPS that went bad.
  4. What are you trying to install, I have a 500 and didn't need any extra software for it.
  5. I use Cachemate on my PPC and find the pluses far out weigh the little annoyances. But for everyone that used to use mobi pocket reader and use GSAK, try this macro, its not just for the blackburry. I use it on my ppc. Create a Mobipocket eBook (mobi.gsk)
  6. Most if not all of those programs produce a webpage in your browser (IE, Firefox, ect). I use IE. When the webpage is produced, right click on the page then click View Source. At that point a notepad page should showup with alot of words and numbers. Again, right click on the notepad page, select all, copy. Now go to Geocaching.com, to your account, edit profile. at the bottom of the page, paste in the your profile details box then update account. Done
  7. Just looked on the Glisson website and from what I see they don't have any drivers for Vista, only up to XP. USB to Serial Adapter - Driver Downloads and Documentation If the tech you called said it would work, I think he fibbed to you.
  8. StarTech serial card Belkin usb to serial I have used both with my old magellan sport trak and garmin vista and they have drivers for Vista. I am running Vista Home Premium.
  9. do a google search for GeoCalc, its a free coord conversion tool.
  10. Do a google search for GeoCalc its a free coord conversion tool.
  11. I have mentioned this in anouther thread. I have an explorist 500 and the way you hook the cable to the GPS determines weather it conects as a USB or a serial conection. I am running Vista and if you have the cable pointing upwards it is in serial mode, I get the same error you got. Rotate the cable and have it pointing down and it will be in USB mode. Give it a try.
  12. Other websites that I have used: www.handango.com www.handmark.com www.pocketgear.com One app that I have found very helpful is HandySwitcher witch makes it easy to switch between running apps. That would be at www.dinarsoft.com Avast also has an antivirus program for PPC's www.avast.com
  13. On the c300 series to reset the unit you have to take the faceplate off and push the reset button I believe its at the upper left hand corner.
  14. I use my c340 to geocache ( drive to the local the use the handheld) If using GSAK to load the waypoints you have to export the caches you want in a .GPX format than use the Garmin POI loader to send them to the c320. Then to remove them when done use the POI loader again to erase them all at once from the unit. If you send direct from GSAK to the unit than you have to deleat one at a time.
  15. I've used CacheMate and microsoft Pocket Streets on mine. GSAK can also make a pushpin file for pocket streets. I also have spoiler sync for the cache pictures (spoilers)
  16. I have an Explorist 500 also and found that how you attach the cable to the GPS makes a differance. Try attaching the cable facing up, than try it facing down and see if this clears it up.
