  1. As per the above posts, my user name translates to 44362896, which when rounded off, is 44° 36' 25" (DMS) Using my atlas which I feel is NAD27, it looks like it passes just south of Christchurch, New Zealand. Anybody know of any New Zealand Geocaching sites? thanks, lkd
  2. Thanks to all who replied. I did what Joe said, it worked fine. Then I went to the manual to see if I could find it. If I didn't know what I was lookin for,I never would have found it. That isan unfriendly manual.
  3. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. RTM! I've been through it 4 or 5 times, but like I said, I've only had it a few weeks and only have weeekends to play. It's just now starting to make sense. You wouldn't believe me if I told you how I found my first couple caches. (Hint, I didn't use a "GoTo"). thanks again for all the info, lkd
  4. That's what I figured. The manual wasn't a lot of help. I need to cipher out Easy GPS. I got a cable with the unit and already updated the firmware. I like the idea of a different icon though. lkd
  5. I've only had my GPSr for 3 weeks, but I'm managing to find most caches. I seem to get within a few feet, even under medium tree cover, but a couple of them remain lost. Anyway, here's the question. Can anyone tell me if there's a way to have only the active waypoint show on the "map" screen, as oppossed to all waypoints in memory. I don't want to delete them in case I want to go back someday. Also, are there any screens that you guys would turn off? I think 4-5 are enough as most show duplicate info. thanks, lkd
  6. Excuse me for being nit-picky; but isn't GPS (Global Positioning System) slightly inaccurate for our little bitty handheld units? Wouldn't "GPU" (Global Positioning Unit) or "GPR" (Global Positioning Receiver) be more accurate? happy hunting all, LKD
  7. Sorry, I can't type well, but I can usually spell; it's add, not ad.
  8. I added a photo to my profile, but when I clicked on "Avatar" it only had the option of the same said photo. How can I ad a different avatar from my photo?
  9. Thanks guys, after I made a fool of myself, I found it on the site and logged it found.
  10. I found a virtual cache @ N 30° 29.863 W 097° 43.941 that I got the coordinates for a couple of weeks ago. I don't recall the name, but it is located in the BCMUD near Round Rock, Texas. I want to log it as found, but it doesn't appear anymore, even if I type the coordinates on the seek a cache page. I'm new at this, please be gentle. I've seen "archived" caches, but I wasn't aware that caches could be completely removed. Any enlightenment will be greatly appreciated. Also, how do you add the little icons to your post? I'm gonna experiment.
