  1. [Please try again. Thanx. I'm up and running. I just love this.
  2. What did you do to get it to work? I was putting it in the main file. I had to put it in the Groundspeak/Wherigo/cartridges folder for it to recognize it.
  3. OK. I think I have it. I was just saving it in the main folder and not in the Groundspeak/Wherigo/cartridges folder.
  4. A little more effort on my part and it looks like it is working correctly.
  5. I am trying to load the 4 minute hour glass on an ipaq. It is not showing in the cartridge list here either. I have tried shortening the name (now to 16 characters) but it is still not showing. The tutorial cartridge worked just fine. I am having trouble getting Sample Clue hunt to show in the list also.
  6. Yes. You two have been absolutely wonderful. I did go out and try it last night. It worked great. I'm very excited. I tried to download 2 other games, however, and they are not pulling up in the play list. I think I am doing the same thing as before. I downloaded them to the folder on my desktop. Sync. They are both located in the same folder as the tutorial game but when I pull up the Wherigo program it only has the tutorial listed. I tried the 'reload cartridge list' option in the menu, but alas, it did not resolve the problem. Any help here?
  7. OMG!!!!!! You are a GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I could have NEVER done this on my own. NEVER! Once we were on the same page you were able to give me exact instructions on how to get started. When I attempted to start the Wherigo it told me bluetooth was not turned on. But, when I hit OK and went back to it it came right up. Gave me the option to choose a game. Which I did. I'm in the house and did not continue but it seems to be working. It did say satellite reception was not optimal. ANything else I need to know? I saw some posts that said you needed to start the gps first? I'm not sure that I can minimize it on this one. So, not sure if that is applicable. It's dark and cold outside, but I think I'm going to bundle up and see if I still get the same message. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU SnraChavez of Los Traviesos.
  8. OK. I have done that part. What next. Do I need the redistribute download before the Wherigo? How do I know if I got this right? I think it must be in there because it shows on the 'remove program' screen. Looking more promising now.
  9. Its ok. You've got a good and patience teacher helping you out. Just remember we all had to go though puzzling this out before we got it working. You're doing fine. Ranger will help you through it. Thanx. OK. Where do I go now? I told you I was not a techie. I reread some of your notes. Was I supposed to run the download on my computer before I put it in the ipaq folder to download???
  10. I'm so terribly lost and confused. I downloaded the net. cf v2. Placed it in the ipaq folder in 'my docs'. The computer converted it for pocket pcs. Then I plugged in and synced. When I try to click on netcf setupv2 in ipaq it says: There is no application associated with netcfseupv2. Run the application first then open this file from within the application. Do I not need to open this? Do I need to download the Wherigo now and try to open that?
  11. After that, try installing the .Net CF, then the player and let's see what happens. .net cf: is that the redistributor download?
  12. OK. I have deleted the Wherigo and the net.compact update. I still have the Wherigo install on there. What do I do now. I just deleted these items. Nothing else.
  13. Oops. Yeah, sorry for the other post. I got distracted and hit the 'add reply' button when I was trying to back out of it because I got busy.
  14. First of all: Thank you for such detailed information in terms that I can understand. Second: I figured out how to get the download from my computer to the second computer. I got Wherigo on there and it told me I needed the updated item. I downloaded that and when I try to use it it says: there is no application associated with "netcfsetupv2". Run the application first, then open this file from within the application. OK. I did this BEFORE I read your note. Do I need to uninstall everything? I checked in systems and the only thing it has there is the where I go player. I will be patient this time and wait for your response. I'm afraid my haste has probably caused more problems. Should be fixable, but still . . . . I also increased the sd card to a 2gb. So space should be OK now.
  15. OK. All the computer techies out there can go ahead and laugh and get it over with. I have NO IT background but am very fascinated by the Wherigo aspect. I read over comments on devices and have found a iPaq 5915 at a good price. I have it and have figured out how to sync to it. (hey, that was a chore for me!) And now I am trying to find out how to download the player to it. I would really like to schedule a phone conversation, if possible, where some one could walk me through it. What tends to happen with written explanations is I may not understand some of the terms used by more experienced people. I am willing to try though.
  16. I have a travel bug that I registered. I took it to an event and it was taken and dropped 1200 miles away. I had not dropped it at the event but I thought the miles would begin from when I registered it. Now it is showing 0 miles. Can this be corrected?
  17. The eTrex Vista also boasts an internal memory capacity of 24 megabytes, which allows it to accept downloaded mapping data from Garmin's MapSource® CD-ROMs, including U.S. Recreational Lakes with Fishing Hot Spots. Does this have a spot for an SDcard? Also, the maps cd's. I know, silly question. But are there maps already on the unit or must you have the cd's and updates. Sorry, new cacher.
  18. I am interested in these items, but, I have a few questions. I am assuming they are in working order. Do they have all the cords, etc available to be able to use them immediately? Does it have an SD card in it?
  19. I am glad that you called someone out publicly about the price. I am new to geocaching and purchased a new GPS. What I got is OK for a beginner or even somebody who does not have more to spend. However, I am finding out now that for about $75 more I could have gotten one that would allow me to download the caches. The store attendent was just about useless. Now that I have a few weeks and numerous caches under my belt I am finding that we have already outgrown our new GPS. I thought the 'garage sale' list was wonderful. I was even thinking about buying from a person who had listed a new GPS that was bought in error. I thought I was getting a good deal until he was called out. I cannot say thanks enough. Now I think I should try to meet with some other more experienced cachers and see what they are using and how it works so I can decide which GPS will work for our family. I will still look for a good deal, but will investigate much further.
