  3. HMM Nerdy or not, I'm sertanly not a steriotypical nerd, 1: it's hard to call a six foot female nerdy 2: it's even harder to call a airport security officer nerdy 3: I'm the outdoors type I grew up in the mountains and love the silence only deep forest can produce 4: Athough I love high tec toys, I don't know every detail about them, how they were proggramed, etc 5: I may have a pale complection but that's because I work night shift 6: When I'm not holding my GPS it's clipped to my belt No I don't think the sport itself is nerdy it's how you go about it More to see, More to do
  4. I did a snow cache recently I had to dig around in several plases as the cache was in a tupperware box covered in leaves unfoutunalty there were lots of mounds that looked like potential hiding spots I actualy walked right by the cache a few times before I found it More to see, More to do

  7. when you exit the park and you look like the abondamal snow man. (I was crusted in snow from head to foot exiting from one cache now kept dropping on me from the trees and freezing to my warm clothing) you can read what elce happened here http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=50531 More to see, More to do

  12. you go to look for somthing in your SUV counsol and you have to dig through spare packs of batteries to get to it you think of adopting the U.S. Post's slogan for your own (I'm Canadain and even I know it) when you return home you often have twigs stuck in you hair, Or look like a snowman because it's been encrusted on you pants from sitting kneeling on the ground to get a cache, and from trees dumping piles of it on you as you pass (the snow thing happened to me today I had to keep wiping of my Rino from numerous tree drops, later I had to go into the truck and melt some before proceeding into nearby a public builing to get lunch) you cant look at something in the store withought dreeming up a new cache idea More to see, More to do
  13. I had something like that as well and I posted it on the online log http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=50531 More to see, More to do
  14. I finaly got around to the site dispite the exstreem cold found the other cache after two attemps and had a look around only one site looked promising and was far enough away I headed into the potential site up a hill and into some thick tall bush a few feet in I abandoned the idea quickly. There was old farm masheanery rusting away barbed wire and I was costantly steping on hidden opsticals under thick grass and snow. I will have to find somewhere elce to hide my first cache. so much fo a close and conveniant site More to see, More to do
  15. I just bought my GPS no even a week ago would have got it sooner but the Rinos only became alvalable in Canada recently and that's what I wanted as a started model. I went to two caches on the weekend the first one with my Father and two dogs the second one on my own. Most of my caching will probly be solo, I'm not afraid to be alone since I'm a bit taller than the aveage male. I'm a 6 foot dark brown brunette and not the rail thin tall girl ether. I haven't had a chance to hunt down any more caches since the weather turned to nasty to be out but I'm planning on looking for one tomorow weather be dammed More to see, More to do
  16. Thanks for the great replies, I'm going to scout the area find the other cache and see if I can find a good location that would be hard to find from the other spot, not mearly a walk over to the next bunch of trees Then I will consider what kind of cache it will be. I'm thinking of a micro cache of pins, the path is near enough to the airport that geocaching travlers who have a few hours to kill can trade pins and be back in time for their flight More to see, More to do
  17. I punched in the coordanants and it's in eastern Canada sorry I can't help More to see, More to do

  21. thanks for the info I'll have to scout it out it's a long bike path I could find another local along it somewhere. I was hopping to put it near the swamp where theres lots of birds in the summer but from the map and driving by it, it seems that's where the other cache is. thing is this will be my first cache and I want it to be somewhere where I can cheack on it easaly, the path is pretty close to work More to see, More to do

  24. I was thinking of plasing a cache in a sertan area when I looked to see if there were other nearby Caches I found theres one nearby the spot I want to place I havent looked for it yet the weather has been to nasty to do so. what I want to know is how far is it polite to palce a cache, the area its in is pretty open exsept for a couple corpses of tees and some dence srub I won't place it in the same group of trees but a nearby one or amoung the srub is that ok? 25. You start peeching the gospel of Caching to those who never even heard of GPS You eat at McDonalds even though you hate their food when you come home when it's -30C you don't put your GPS in the back pack, you put it inside your coat. (did that today comming home from work, to cold to visit the nearby cache I hope the weather warms up) you may be a newbie to caching but you find yourself carring the gps everywhere you go More to see, More to do
