Thanks, but unless I'm missing something when I read about creating POI files, I don't think that this would work for paperless geocaching, where I may be loading several hundred geocaches at one time from a pocket query.

To anyone interested, this is the reply that I received from Tom at GPS City. The Garmin Nuvi 2797LMT is designed as an automotive navigator and will not have the geocaching icons nor can be added as found in the Garmin Outdoor Handheld geocaching friendly GPSs.

D geocaching icons on nuvi Hi I use my nuvi mainly for geocaching. My old nuvi is a 1490 & when I loaded caches into it, it automatically showed the geocaching icons on the screen as I approached them. I have a 2797 now & it doesn't display the icons. Someone told me that I would have to have Garmin base camp loaded onto my computer, which I have done, but I don't see anything that helps me. I'm not real computer savvy so I need some help. Thanks

In the last 2 weeks or so, when I go to my profile to see the last caches found, it shows the last 5 caches viewed. I want to get rid of this feature & don't seem to be able too. This had happened a few years back & I was able to prevent it but I don't know what to do now. Help needed. Thanks

WOW: 1502 caches in a day. Who really cares!! When I was first introduced to this great game in February of 2007 I was at the Fly Fishing Expo in Calgary with a friend who was a cacher. He showed me some of the niceties of the activity & I was successful in finding 2 caches that were close by. A week or so later we went out & spent a full day seeking caches in a gorgeous environment along the Bow River. We were able to find all 17 of the caches that we looked for. I will guarantee you that we had more fun than you PT seekers will ever see. Just my humble opinion.

I use Easy GPS to upload Bookmark List PQ's to my units. Garmin 62 is main unit, 60CSx for backup & nuvi 1490 for help ( sometimes ) as a driving aide. When I add DNF's & previous finds to my Bookmark List they will not upload into my handhelds but will load into the nuvi. They show up on the Easy GPS file but won't upload. I have contacted Garmin & they are no help at all. I am not very technical savvy. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks BTW, I have no idea how to select different options for Bookmark PQ's as can be done for a normal PQ.

Anyone having this happen? My Garmin 62 will not load previous DNF's even when a new PQ & file # is run. I use EasyGPS for caching. Garmin support said to run a software update which I have just done & it still won't load the DNF. I actually ran it twice. It will load them into my 60CSx & nuvi 1490. A light red colour highlights the cache info on the EasyGPS file. Does this block it ( some sort of filter ) from loading to the GPS & if so how do I get rid of it, or is this just another annoying quirk of the 62 series? Thanks

This happened to me 3 or 4 times last summer. After entering a substantial number of cache logs & then quickly reviewing them, the 'captcha image' appeared. It did cause a certain amount of KAOS.

I just purchased a GPSmap 62 but when I try to 'add another device' to my profile it is not on the drop down list. I'm unable to load caches to it from GSAK. Any ideas as to what to do. Thanks

Hello I placed my first travel bug in a cache in Nanaimo B.C. ( I'm from Calgary, Alberta) I placed it & logged it on Wed. March 14 & as of 9:30 A.M. MDT, Sun March 18 it is not recorded in my account. The cache reference # is GCH75T, the travel bug reference is TB18W9X. Did I err in logging it in or does it take longer for it to be recognized. Hi I've found some caches, but not yet placed one. I live in Alberta,but am going to Vancouver Island on Tuesday. I will be hunting some caches there. It is appropriate for me to leave a travel bug in a cache out there? It is one of mine that I just bought. Thanks, ruffsranger
