  1. actually, it's pretty simple: read the logs before you head out...if it's a crappy cache, there's usually a statement to that effect (e.g. "lots of garbage around"...even better, the descriptions might appeal to one cacher and turn-off another (e.g. "muddy, thorny," etc)

  3. altho i've added captions for my avitar and profile photos, it still lists as "geocacher" and "tadpole"...am i missing something?...and is there some significance to these terms?...seems like someone referred to "tadpoles" in a forum...thanks

    ALTHO I HAVE A CAPTION UNDERNEAT MY PHOTO (oops, didn't mean to scream), and avitar photo, (i entered in "notes" section), it always comes up "geocacher" or "tadpole"...do i have to ne a premium member to get a caption in?

  12. i had some problems w/my little geko last weekend...lot of bouncing, directional arrow seemed stuck, and speed didn't register...all symptoms of low battery but low battery indicator didn't go on...perhaps the cold slowed down the 2 aaa batteries?

  15. dumb question: i've got an older model and everyone always say my coords are "way off" e.g. 120 feet...question is are the older units much less accurate?...is sa "turned off" for older units?
  16. glad to see this topic...seems like there are 2 types of cachers out there: those that seem to enjoy the hike, the hunt and those that seem very competitive about the sport and want to one-up others...and always gripe about others' coords...
