  1. Well, you could activate it. But I wouldn't be so sure, the coin is lost, yet. Living in Germany I've learned over the years, that there must be some very dedicated postman work abroad, who just can't trust a local could do a good job of delivering mail, so they rather do it themselfs. So they walk all the way to the coast, get into a boat and row it over the ocean, than start walking again, till they find my mailbox. There is no other explanation, why a coin from Scotland needed three month to arrive. Letters from the US take similar long time to arrive. What's worse, the tracking ID only works within the US, the moment, the letters are put into a plane (or ship, or whatever they bring them over with...), they get new tracking IDs, in my case German DHL ones... It's a nightmare and a nuisance for a seller, I'm sure. But still, I'm not so sure, the coin is lost after all. It just takes sometimes a ridiculous long time.
  2. Well, why should your post clerks be smarter than ours? From the Easter Mission Thread last year:
  3. ... how in the world can you be 'super busy' ... ??? Few in the world even know where Estonia IS ... much less create cause for it to be busy there ... When I took Round 9 to the Post Office they looked in their computer and said it looks like it was going somewhere near Russia ... so I thought I would have to deal with a forwarding service through the International Space station ... but then we noticed JP's address was just one stop short of that ... Don't say near Russia! That's an insult! Estonia is a very proud member of the European Union! They even deal with the right money, the Euro.... But I agree, from your part of the world it's far, far away. (Same as your address from my centre of the world, I must say.... ;-))
  4. Oh dear, how can you start another round in the middle of the holiday season? Congratulations JP to a wonderfull mission parcel. And of course I'd like to be in the next round too, please. My searchlist can be found here: TB2DQY8
  5. From the description I'd say, you've found a wooden coin. Those are mostly non trackable and are signature items or collectibles. Some like to collect these. If you don't want to keep it, you could drop it into another cache.
  6. The coins arrived safe and sound and I must say, they turned out beautiful! For any aviation enthusiast definitely a gem in the collection. Thank you for this great coin!
  7. My seeking list is here: TB2DQY8 But as most of them are quite rare coins and hard to find, the most important part on that list is following: "Anything with a nature or maritim theme, about Geography or Locations, and "girls coins". Non Trackables always welcome." Feel free to offer me anything you consider fitting, I'm not too picky. . . . . edit: will I ever get a posting written without spelling mistakes? I'm sorry...
  8. Proudly presenting: My first personal coin. Both squirrels are drawn by yours truely and have been my avatars at several social networks. The front at first was designed for a pathtag for the milestone of my 1000th find. The one on the back is inspired by those drawings, where the artists use a single line to draw a face or animal. As the drawing with one line wasn't what I wanted to achive, I've used several. Now both squirrels have been combined and put onto a coin. Why squirrels? Well, I just fancy those rats with their bushy tails, they're lively and cute. Also they hide caches, as they collect their winter forage of nuts. As they are also forgetful, quite a number of trees was planted by quirrels. The overwhelming use of green in the background is not only a symbol for my occupation of horticulturist, but also the one colour Ireland is renown for. As I used to live there for over 6 years, the clover (shamrock) just had to be part of the design. There are 100 coins made, 70 in copper and 30 in antique gold. They are trackable on geocaching.com and have their own icon. They're 30mm square, 3,5mm thick and both sides are covered with epoxy, which gives them a nice smoth feeling. A hole makes it easy to attach them to anything you like. These coins are not for sale, but for trade. edit: to add the size of the coins.
  9. Great, another whishlist mission turn. I'd like to be in the next round as well, please. Same procedure, the list is here: TB2DQY8
  10. At the moment my own and first personal coin is being minted. I have both name and signature sign on it. Not planning to sell, only trade and a few will be presents, though. If it is purely to please yourself, than put your name on it. Lots of really special coins are personals with cachernick on them.
  11. As I've seen (and held!) the samples in Ulm, I must say, this is quite an interesting trackable, with unique material and stunning size! This is something for everyone: For those, who think size matters - it's huge! For those, who like stones, gems and Earthcaches - it's made of slate! For those, who fancy a elaborate packaging - it comes in a special tin! For those, who like scary Halloween designs - it features bones! For those, who don't like to spent a huge amount on their trackables - it's quite reasonably priced! Sorry, if this sounds like an advertisement, I did like the sample, even as I usually don't fancy those 'boys designs' with bones and scary hooded creatures...
  12. The silver and copper version arrived today and they are marvellous. Much nicer than the pictures, they don't really do them justice. The copper has quite an autumn feeling to it, while the silver is more the stark light of summer, amazing how different they appear, just in the different metalls. Thank you very much for a lovely coindesign, the detail is stunning. I like especilly the night ocean, so clever!
  13. Me too, please! My searchlist can be found here: TB2DQY8 Great to see, Moozer is feeling better and a lovely package arrived there. Which of them was your wishlist coin? Or was this already mentioned and I've forgotten?
  14. That's so nice, you've named one version after my son! :anicute: That means, I HAVE TO get it! The old Dalas were already quite cute, nice to have some new versions now.
  15. Those are so cute! Hopefully I'll manage to get some in Ulm...
  16. Thanksgiving or Entedank, as we call it, is the first weekend of October. A Noel mission is mandatory, but still quite some time off, how about an autumn themed mission? Maybe in September/October? Count me in, whatever mission you might be planning. I love missions.
  17. I'm trying it again, anyone with a Skoda Yeti coin out there? Please? 1. Skoda Yeti (Be prepared for something wild) 2. Atlantagal 2007 3. Garmin UK Stonehenge 4. BCC - Plymouth Rock 5. BCC - Mount Rushmore
  18. Depends on WHERE you ... slap a GC number .... Actually, moving caches aren't in accordance to the guidelines, she needs to slap a TB Number on her. Now, most would use a T-Shirt, Vest or Jacket, as far as I've seen it at events, but there is so much room for imagination....
  19. You're right, keeping a coin in the inventar for a long time isn't what one would wish for. Check your traveller, is it marked as collectible yes? Do change it to not collectible. 'Cause that means, the finder can keep it, even if it is yours. Please don't use a translator, most Germans can speak reasonably well English, a translator is always making a mess of the message. If you write positive, thanking the cacher for taking your coin to reach its goal of Stonehenge, chances are higher for a positive response. You don't want to loose the traveller, and at last it's getting miles and logs while staying in the caching bag of someone. I'd rather have my coins in possesion of a cacher than out in a cache with potential danger of being muggled...
  20. It's the old story: Don't release anything into the wild, you care about. Sending out a coin into the caches of the world is literally loosing it, but getting to know its whereabouts. (Hopefully...) I've sent quite a few travellers out, some of them lost. That's part of the game, I'm afraid. They can be muggled, they can be lost with the cachebox, they can be stolen by cachers or they could even be kept by children of uneducated parents, who don't teach them the intensions of a traveller. I do keep dipping coins into caches along the route, if I don't drop them off imidetly. They get miles as well as some nice detours and not just the one line from cache A to cache B. Of course I agree, that keeping a coin for a year is way to long. Especially if the reason isn't comunicated to the owner. But still I would be annoyed it the visited logs were deleted... In the past I had a coin for some four month, because after that time I could fullfill the mission of going to Egypt. It was agreed with the owner, that I should keep it. In that autumn I was quite busy and the coin got logs from Poland, Netherland, Danmark and of course within Germany before we went on holiday in Egypt. There it got lost along with my own traveller in a cachebox within the hotel grounds. A place, I considered safe enough... Those things happen, but the stories are still lovely and that's why I still keep sending out coins and TBs. Edit: another silly typo...
  21. Glad, it made it safe and sound to nevadanick. I'd like to be in the next round as well, please. Same procedure, the list is here: TB2DQY8 Even though it was just my turn...
  22. I believe, it was my mission, which arrived today! Jay! Unfortunately flickr changed their site somehow and I'm too stupid to link a picture now... I'll try, though. (@flickr: An update is something, which makes the site unbearable difficult to navigate. I hate updates...) Anyway, I got a lovely Kathys Coin too in gold along with acompanying proxy. Quite a heavy coin it is, and really colourful. I'm hoping for a lot of dogs as well, when I finally reach there, where they'll wait for me... So my mission is fulfilled at both ends, finally. Email sent: 2.5.14 Name received: 12.5.14 Mission sent: 26.7.14 Mission arrived: 11.8.14 Mission received: 14.8.14
  23. I've no idea, what you're complaining about. I have just sent two missions from Germany to the USA, insured parcel for €36, which is about $48. No surprise, that no many want to participate in a mission, if insured postage is such astronomic... The content was less that postage.
  24. Well, to make matters worse for you, I counted your entry before the parcel arrived... Now you can live in hope, too. Tracking ID is 350018753462 DHL Tracking
