  1. Not sure if they are exactly what you are looking for but you could try MotionX-GPS, Spyglass, GCTools or iGCT Pro.The first two may do it live and the last two can figure it out from entering waypoints. By the way- your English is fine. Norway is a place I'd like to visit one day.
  2. If you're going to be anywhere near the Chicago area we have a few that would work: xafwodahs, Xaqery, xfoo, xiao_tuzi, Xtremcacher and Xyval. These are 'X' cachers in Indiana: xcross9, xonxoff2001 and xpunkx & Julez. And this one is in Iowa: XSJUNKIE. You'll have to check their profiles for active hides. Good luck.
  3. Oh well, I pretty much figured that. Thanks for checking and the kind words.
  4. Some of my numbers and a bit of my background, without too many sour grapes hopefully: My profile currently shows I own 56 listings. Of those, 17 are events and 1 is a lab cache. That leaves 38. Of those 38, 12 are archived. Of the remaining 26, all except one has a favorite point. The total favorite points on my active caches is 257. That comes out to roughly 10 favorite points per cache. I also have a further 42 FPs on archived caches. That totals up to 299 FPs. That averages almost 8 FPs per non event/lab caches and over 5 FP per cache including all types. The one cache that doesn't have a favorite point had a 'Needs Maintenance' attribute from 1/6/13 to 8/25/17 due to a broken latch on the ammo can. To answer the obvious question as to why I never did maintenance: the next finder, just a couple of weeks after the NM was logged and someone I know from being local to them, didn't mention anything wrong with the container or contents. Out of the 7 times it was found since the NM was logged, 4 of them say everything is good with the contents. That indicated to me that there was really no need to visit the cache. On the other hand, I didn't feel 'right' just clearing the attribute if I didn't actually visit it. Catch 22. Until now. I figure from what I've seen that one cache may be why I didn't make the cut so I went ahead and cleared it out. There may be a very slim chance that I did make it tho- I've recently had issues with getting credit for souvenirs and the Mary Hyde trackable code that may be due to the spaces (3 in total) that are part of my caching handle. That brings up a whole 'nother issue that I'm not real happy about...but this isn't the place for it. I've been caching for coming up on 15 years; found caches in all 50 states and 3 Canadian provinces; found every icon type except giga, including 182 virtuals. I've also advocated for virtuals since before they went away.
  5. Wanted to add to my brief post earlier with a bit of background and a couple of more in depth observations: I've been using preforms since late 2003/early 2004 as sig items and while placing hides. In my experience most of the regularly used preforms are well under the 100 milliliter limit. From the website where I get mine: "Preforms are ~11 cm long x 2.5 cm in diameter (~4.3 in. x 1 in.). Interior volume of preform is approximately 25 cc (~0.84 fluid oz).". I measured one of the ones I have on hand (not from the site quoted above) and the inside measurements are about 22mm diameter and about 143mm long. That comes out to 54.33142ml of volume, according to this site. I also took the same preform, filled it with water and poured it into a measuring cup. It came out to almost exactly a quarter of a cup. That converts to 59.14706ml. I used that particular preform because it's a bit larger than most I see. I have seen some preforms that could be called small, but those are few and far between. The only times I've seen 'trade items' in a common preform they've interfered with the functionality either by making it hard to get at the log or by causing the cap to not fit on correctly, thus causing it to take on moisture. Just because you can try and put something in container, doesn't mean you should. I could, for instance, probably put a BB or air gun pellet into a common nano (Mr. Magneto or Bison tube), but would that really be a good idea? I would say no, for the same reasons I mentioned above with regards to a preform.
  6. I added the 2 years and a month to 2 of the 3 possibilities. The other one I DNFd yet again...only to go back there last Saturday and finally find it. It was 10 years to the day since I first looked for it and it's 625 miles from home as the crow flies: Jackson Five Micro-J.J..
  7. Update: the article has been published, it's in the June/July issue of National Geographic Traveler magazine.
  8. Wait...what? This isn't an April Fools joke? I thought for sure it was, hence my original post in this thread (bold added). My true feelings on the topic is a healthy ambivalence...
  9. Anyone logging a cache as 'found' more than once is wrong. Personally, I think extra 'found it' logs should be deleted. Really, all it does is run up ones find count. I don't do it, nor do those I cache with. Lame. False numbers just ruin it for everyone. On the one hand it make you look like you may have more experience than you really do. On the other it's a slap in the face to those of us that come by our number honestly. Like I said, lame. Saying anything different is blasphemous. Unless I missed something, or am not reading between the lines of the initial post (that seems to capitalize on this long overdue policy), I apologize in advance for those who just don't get it.
  10. Those particular hosts get a lot of use and are usually in very busy places. Surprisingly, they also get moved around a bit. Not the best scenario for cache longevity...
  11. Have you tried here: www.GONIL.org? Are you on Facebook? I could also direct you to a group on there.
  12. True story: I was out caching with my son one day years ago when at one cache he said "Dad, you know this is the first cache we've found today that hasn't had a homeless camp nearby". Smart and observant that boy.
  13. Saw a couple of posts on Facebook that Jeremy is stepping down. Is this true? If so it's the end of an era...
  14. 7 years, 5 months, on 2 caches. With luck I'll add another 2 years and a month and find 3 that old next month.
  15. Too many to remember them all. The vast majority have been innocuous. It doesn't really get interesting until guns are involved...
  16. I looked but could not find anything on this. Are there any guidelines preventing one from adding any attribute (other than perhaps Wheelchair Accessible and Wireless Beacon) they want to a cache listing?
  17. Did you note any of the names in the logbook?
