  5. Wow what a great tool. Was bought a Nuvi 200W for my 40th birthday by Mrs Monkhouse late last year and had heard of this 'paperless caching' but was not au fait with it. After looking within the forums I stumbled on Pilotsnipes tutorial. After many hours and an update to GSAK I am now a paperless virgin . Will hopefully try out our first paperless cache foray this weekend (weather permitting). A great tutorial. Thanks Pilotsnipes for all your had work. Regards Monkhouse Snr
  6. My coin was waiting for me when the family arrived back home from an early morning Christmas shop! It looks Great Thanks for all you have had to put up with over the past months. Well worth the effort. Hope that you manage to raise plenty for the SAR dogs Thanks again Monkhouse Snr

  9. I have emailed Daryl's dad to express everyones concern (he doesn't read forum) ... asking him to get Daryl to post in forum or PM people. Hope you all receive your coins soon - they are nice. Thanks for your help Maple Leaf.
  10. 10 days since last post from Lizzardman and no reply from Daryl . I am concerned that some members have already received their coins which indicates to me that the coins have been received by Daryl. I realise that there has been a new arrival but no word from Daryl is a bit concerning. Anyone able to shed any light on the situation? I have also sent a PM which as yet has gone unanswered.
  11. Congratulations Daryl on your arrival I await my 2 new arrivals with eager anticipation
  12. Daryl Could you please post an update as where you are with the Geocoins? As you can see by previous posts no one has received their promised coins. Any news would be welcome. Monkhouse Snr
  13. Hi Darryl Looking at your post on the 2 Sep you stated The coins have arrived with me today! I will get them out to you this week!! As yet I have not received my coins. Could you please let me know if you have posted them? As I have not received them and I fear they might have gone missing in the post. If this is the case may I suggest contacting the Royal Mail and make a claim? If you have yet to post them all is well and I will sit back and wait as I know this has been beset with problems and I am very content to wait. Thanks and keep up the good work with the SAR (am an old member of a team myself). Monkhouse Snr
  14. Thanks Darryl for the update. Sorry to hear you have had problems. Glad it is all sorted. Monkhouse Snr
  15. Hi Any further update on when you will be shipping out the coin? Thanks Monkhouse Snr
  16. Daryl What a great design I am an ex Member of the Leeming Mountain Rescue Team and having worked with SAR dogs I am all in favour of you raising money for your charity. I have got to buy one
  17. Fantastic! I received my copy this morning, and have spent the last 15 mins watching my new screen saver! I am very impressed by the time and effort that Lassitude has put in to this creation. If this is celebrating your 400th cache, then I cannot wait to see what you produce for your next milestone. Congratulations on reaching 400 caches and producing a fantastic screensaver Andrew
  18. Well done to all the organisers! We were very impressed with all the set up of the event and were sorry we could only pop in for an hour in the morning. But it was nice to put faces to names. Thanks to everyone who was involved in making it such a great event. The Monkhouse Family
  19. Hi thanks for the help and information. I have a few possible sites lined up to choose from and can definitly say that they are not going to pose a problem with regards to access and un exploded ordanance. Watch this space......
  20. Hi thanks Simon for pionting out these 2 rules. However I am strictly not on vacation down here and thought it would be something of a 'feather in the cap' if people in the same situation as myself could log an unusual cache. Oh well worth a try.
  21. Hi again. Thanks for the support. Will rate it as if it form the point of a Falklander and make sure it is not on any MOD property. Only thing now is to try and get time off the base to go looking for a suitable cache site. Watch this space
  22. Hi I am at present serving down here in the Falklands and wondered what the feeling would be to setting up a virtual cache down here for people who visit the island? It would not be on MOD property so anyone could log it. Would it be a 1 for terain and 5 for difficulty? Please let me know your thoughts. If the concensus of opinion would be against the idea then fair enough. Thought it only fair to ask first
  23. As newbies we were intrigued to see what a T & J bear looks like in the flesh (fur!), so we went to see the one left in our cache but obviously couldn't take that one. Tracked down where else T & J had left them and rushed off early from work on Monday to track one down. Beat Zaxx to the location at Ob-scure by about 10 mins and bagged us a bear! They're great - Monkhouse Jnr is a very proud adoptive parent to "Toby" and Daddy is proudly displaying the car sticker. The Monkhouse Family
