  1. Hey, I didn't even want the FSM coin-sorry, no offense. I am pretty new to coin collecting. I have often wondered when I do go to buy a coin, why there aren't limits, but it's not the end of the world either if I don't get a coin. I had the same problems on the website-I did manage to get one coin, but never even saw a picture of the Dragon coin, so I thought C&P changed their minds and didn't offer the coin. There will be other really cool coins-some of them even start to look alike after awhile! I guess I just remind myself what I love about geocaching, and coins are just icing on the cake for me.
  2. Ditto-would love to have two of them, one for my boss who collects Freemason coins. Is there a sale date yet and where/who can you order them from?
  3. Or Knight's end could be when the pope and the king captured a bunch of Knight's Templars on Friday the 13th and tortured all of them, making them confess to things they probably didn't commit. Look at me, here I am camping on the beach, and studying these coins, encryptions, ciphers, DaVinci, etc etc. My boss is actually a Knight's Templar as part of the Mason's, so I have him interested in solving this too!!! At any rate, this has been fun, frustrating, and the coins are awesome!
  4. ok, I'm new, but this is the first time I felt like replying to something. I have read alot of the posts here, and wow, I just can't believe some of the anger here. I am not going to preach about it though. It is a game, a sport, something for fun. FUN! Why turn it into something to stress over? I am just trying to freakin' learn my gps so I can find anything! Any cache, lame, stupid, cool, smart, whatever. It is the thrill of finding things. What happened to camraderie? I spend more on my Starbucks coffee than I do here for the premium membership. Heck, I even spend 12.00 a month to get movie channels on my satellite. I don't even watch it, so I cancelled it. That more than pays for my premium membership. When, or if you go to the gym, don't members have different rates, different plans? Do you look down on them? Uh, the lower paying gym members cannot use the weight machines. Please don't sweat on them either. If you take a flight, do not people pay different prices? We all pay different prices on the same things, or different prices to get a little bit more. Like first class air fare and coach. Do you look down on the first class people? I don't, they choose to spend more money to get extra. I do not want to for flying. Just get me there in one piece, alive. As a matter of fact, I thought the premium price was so low, why not? (don't raise the price though!) And, if you think about it, how can you afford a decent gps but not the premium rate? Almost every sport you decide to get into requires some type of investment. Is there any sport anymore, or any hobby that does not require some sort of investment? (actually, if anyone can think of one, there's another topic to post on)I have never heard anyone say that premium members are better, or that nonpremium members are not. This is the first post I've seen like that. It's just kind of sad about all the stress and anger on here. I don't know, take up knitting or something calming.
  5. Just wondering about the attraction of night caching. I can see how it could be muggle free, but it can also be dangerous and I would think that people who do see you would be even more suspicious. I have read tons of logs from people who seem to love the night caching. On my 5th find, I went at night to an area that I am very familiar with, was with friends, safe area, and wouldn't you know it the cops came? I immediately explained what we were doing and showed him our stuff, but still, it was a little nerve wracking. I guess public pole dancing at night is suspicious?? Seriously, any opinions?
  6. me- F-43 won't cache alone, so a friend tags along, she's 37. My daughter sometimes goes, she is 15.
  7. I have had the same online name for about 13 years now, and am getting tired of it. So I took the robby from that, which is a version of my first name, and the mustang is because I just bought a 2007 red Mustang that I love...so it seemed a good name to adopt
  8. newbie here...I was going after my 5th cache tonight, and first time at night, when a cop came up to me and asked me what I was doing. He thought I was going to vandalize a sign. Hmmm, let's see, I am middle aged, overweight, sober, and with my daughter-do I fit the type to vandalize anything? Guess I should tone down the pole dancing on the sidewalk in public. I just showed him my gps, my maps, my clues and told him I was on a scavenger hunt. Seriously, maybe people should be a little more careful where they hide things, and I know I will be careful about what caches I decide to go after. Definitely not going at night anymore.
  9. You knew you gave up some of your freedoms when you let Bush create your homeland security super-duper ultra mega terrorist fighting ninja squad. Now whenever anyone yells terrorism the fit hits the shan. The US is as near to being a Police State as you can be without calling it a police state. I'm frankly astounded that he's only getting a disorderly conduct charge. With stupid caches like that being made, it's only a matter of time before some douche mysteriously disappears after creating that really nifty cache right in the middle of LAX. Placing a camo box in a dumpster isn't necessarily going to get you put in the clink, but placing one on private property in a public place where there is lots of people is not a clever or responsible place to put a cache, and you can't be suprised that the screwball who does get's in crap for doing it. The bottom line is that you have to realize that most people are paranoid now (for whatever reason... media, government, etc) about terrorist attacks. If you aren't sensitive to that, and insist on behaving irresponsibly, you're gonna get in some hot water.
