  1. There is no need to download any separate icons, must admit that when I last re-loaded the laptop and set GSAK and MM back up I had to import an old saved overlay to get them working properly. If you want I could send you an old overlay of mine to get it kick started.

Hi If you can send me the overlay that would be great. Thanks

  2. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you download the manual for the 450 from the Garmin website. Check out Customizing the Main Menu on page 28 and read about Profiles. It's a great unit, I hope you're enjoying it.

Many thanks will take your advice. Cheers

  3. Hi folks out there in forum land. I have an Oregon 450. Is there any way in which the page sequence can be altered? When I select a cache and press go it takes me to another map page; I would like it to go direct to the compass page from the go page. Any advice gratefully received.

  5. Hi Happy New Year to All.

I have a Garmin 62s. I can remove the gpx files by connecting my PC, that part is simple. I have one file that is marked as found. Try as I might I cannot remove it from the GPS. I have also tried a factory reset, no joy. I have tried making it a waypoint and deleting that, but the file is still there. Any advice apart from throw it away will be appreciated. Many thanks. Colin

  10. The very same reviewer archived one of our caches. It was The UK Retirement Home. He done it without even contacting us first. Shame this game is taken by some so seriously, after all it is still a game.

I asked Brad about the "not contacted" bit actually. He said that he is sending emails right before he archives them. Perhaps you should check your email again, or check spam filters.

I had checked my emails, I used to be, before I retired an IT Information Analyst within the MoD so I think I know when I have not received emails. I contacted the reviewer who also said that the email was sent prior to archiving. I asked him to send it again and received it almost instantaneously. It is not the fact that they archived the caches, it is just the way they went about it! There end of my rant!

  11. We have just seen the news about the poor chap taking photos. It was not a proper Policeman but a plastic Police Community Support Officer. If only they found out just what was legal or illegal before they pounced on the chap. Little Hitlers most of them!!
