  1. We are Carol + John because that is our names. You can change your handles as we used to be BK + SB for a while we used those initials to hide our identities but now that we are officially together we can go by our real names.
  2. P + T should that read Richard the Turd?!?!
  3. It would be a shame if you give up the COTM table Brian, lots of people enjoy it - for the people who don't, a word of advice, just don't enter, it's that simple. Looking back at some of the posts in this thread there are new people joining it every month - you have said yourself with the new people joining this month you would have to prepare their profiles. You must remember that there is a COTM travel bug going round somewhere (is there not? - or have I made that up?!?) it would be a shame that it's mission would be unfulfilled with the demise of the tables. Looking at the stats since you started doing the tables there have been so many more caches planted - I'm sure with the idea of 20 points for each one in the back of some peoples minds (I know that speaking personally) and more caches have been found with TB's in them for similar reasons. Looking at the Trigpointing pages more and more familiar names keep appearing on the lists and the number of active trigpointers has risen from approx 50 to approx 80 since the COTM tables have been created. Despite the moans of a few - there are a lot more in the silent majority who applaud what you do each month and look forward in anticipation of where they are in the league. I hope that the poll gives you a true picture that most people are behind you and want the tables to continue. We personally applaud what you have done for the sport/past-time over the past 12 months and we wish it to remain and prosper a long time to come. Best Regards John + Carol
  4. Congratulations to IREC666 on getting the 100th Cache - Alternative Silverstone Well Done and thanks for choosing one of ours!!!!
  5. I was born under the sign of....."Maternity Ward"
  6. We are trying to get "Christmas Advent-ure" authorised - based on a US cache where you have to leave and take wrapped up presents. No luck as of yet though
  7. Well Done John!! We'll have to go some to catch you!!
  8. Thanks for the advice everyone esp. Fangsy and Sue and Bernie. Hopefully by tomorrow we will too be the owners of a Palm IIIxe bought from ebay yesterday. So then we will have to get cachemate and GSAK. Does getting these pieces of software save becoming members of GC or should we do that as well for pocket queries? Sorry we seem to have more and more questions?!?!
  9. Hi There has been a lot of discussion on the UK board recently about the use of PDAs in geocaching. Saving trees and being eco-friendly. Also with Christmas coming up which is the best PDA to get - what do you need for pocket queries? What do you need for mapping software? etc etc. At the moment there is not a Category in itself for this. Could one be created similar to Ham Radio and caching or GPS Garage Sale ones? I'm sure it would be of great use to many cachers across the world and any advice would be invaluable to the whole GC community. Regards John + Carol
  10. Have we upset all the Texas cachers now. Still no photo and the weekend has been and gone?!?! Regards John + Carol
  11. Seems a good idea to us. It would be a very good idea if it was a winning one - a several million pounds worth of first to find prize might even get you back to collect it before anyone else
  12. At the recent Follow the Arrow to the Arrow event we were amazed at the amount of gadgetry that is available nowadays for cachers. From wristband GPS's to all manner of PDA's. We thought with Christmas coming up (and we have both been good!!- honest ) maybe it would be a good excuse to ditch the binder full of paper and replace it with a all singing all dancing PDA. This is where your help comes in...what is a good one to get? What do we need to look for? Which has the mapping software available for them, that so impressed us at the event? Which features can we do without. We are a bit lost in this area with bluetooth technologies and the like so I'm sure there are other cachers out there who would value this kind of advice - please keep it simple - so we can understand. Many thanks in advance John + Carol
  13. Any news yet? Anyone - or are you all still partying after the election result?!?!
  14. we found it easy to change your name and all the logs get changed automatically. Regards John + Carol (ex BK + SB)
  15. Well Done Jeremy!!! Great resource now for UK cachers!!! Thank you.
  16. Hi The links are right - however there is something going wrong with the co-ords. All the caches are showing a lot further north on the maps than they really are. Not being too technical I don't know how you would correct this but it works OK on the trigpointinguk website which also uses streetmap Regards John + Carol
  17. Hi Jeremy Thanks for the links for Streetmap.co.uk they are just what we have been wanting for a while - however the positions do not tie in with the actual co-ordinates - so it is not yet that helpful as most of the Dderbyshire ones appear to be in Yorkshire. Best regards
  18. Thank you for your buddy system. We can't wait to see this photo whoever it is from!!
  19. Not sure what the weather was like yesterday - but no sign of the photo yet. So if you are going this weekend that would be great!! Thanks John + Carol
  20. Thank you for the help - regards John + Carol
  21. A welcome sign something like "Welcome to Farmers Branch" you can send it to us that would be good. Or if you tell us when you are posting it you could post it to the gc.com website for Sisters Locationless cache and we will add ours - thanks for your speedy reply BTW.
  22. Would anyone around the Farmers Branch area of Texas be willing to help out two cachers from the UK with regard to getting a picture of the Farmers Branch Sign for the Sisters locationless cache. We have a photo of the Bassetlaw sign, so whoever can help us will gain a tick for their cache list and our healtfelt appreciation. Many thanks in anticipation - John + Carol
  23. Congratulations from us Welcome to the 300+ Club
