  2. Garmin Colorado 300. Been used twice, works great. Has box and all paperwork and still has factory screen cover. No scratches dings or nicks. asking $250.00 and I will pay shipping.
  3. I called Garmin this evening and was told by the Rep that it is still supported. He also made the commit that he reads the forums often and he thought that when the CO first came out it made a lot of people unhappy with all the issues it had and there is still a lot of bad blood there? And that there is an update coming out????
  4. Why do I keep reading and hearing that Garmin has abandoned the Colorado? Does this mean they will not continue to update the software? Are these just assumptions and no one really knows but Garmin? Can someone enlighten me here? Thanks
  5. I would just like to know some of the bugs the CO still has so I can look for them. I have been using mine for the last few days and have really been surprised by how well it works after all the bad stuff I read about it. I know I have only had it for a short time and by no means am a GPS expert but I was very timid about purchasing this unit and really only did it because it was so cheap. I have been having trouble with putting maps on it and wish it was the one with all the maps but that was not an option. Today we used it and the accuracy was great. I Had to call Garmin on Thursday and was told by the CS rep that the CO was probably one of the most accurate handhelds they have. Now I don't know if that is true and I do understand he could of just been telling me that to make me happy? It would be nice if the instruction manual had a little more detail in it but Im sure the more I mess with it the more I will figure out. Also I do understand that when the CO came out it had alot of issues and made alot of people doubt it and give it a bad rap but is it still really that bad of a unit?
  6. Mail sent (through your profile), about two coins. Reply sent and Thank You
  7. I would really like to find one of these if there is such a thing?
  8. Ladies and Gentleman the MORON (me) finally got some of it on his GPS. I just thought if I tried the SD card it would show up but I am wrong so far. Thanks again for the help. Splashy I just went by your step by step and got a few segments on there. Thanks!
  9. Now I have saved some of the map on a SD card but when I put the card in the CO I cant bring the map up? I am real sorry that this might be so simple but I really am at a lose here. I need a 1-800-help me figure out my gps!
  10. I'm at work right now and won't be home till later and I will try again and let you know what happens. I worked 12 hours yesterday and got home late and started messing with it. Maybe being so tired I screwed it up but the download is on my desktop and when I double click it nothing will happen? Okay now it is finally showing up on Mapsource but it says "to transfer data to your device select maps or create waypoints, routes, tracks????

  12. Nothing happens. I have tried a couple ways that I thought was right but I think it has come down to I don't know what I'm doing.
  13. Just purchased CO 300 and hate the map that is on it. Want something with a little more detail until I can purchase new ones. We have a big day of caching tomorrow and I need help. I downloaded the Kansas topo from GPSFILEDEPOT and can not get it to my mapsource or my CO. I think I am making it way to hard or I'm just real dumb. Is there a better way to do this? I just need something to get us by until I can purchase the correct ones? Thanks in Advance!
  14. I predict, that if you buy a CO 300, you'll end up with a Vista HCx. I'm sure you know who'll get the Colorado. Enjoy your "new" Vista. Already covered that she thinks the Vista is top of the line and the CO 300 was a prototype built in the 70's and you mark your way points and connect them with an Etch a Sketch! All bases covered........Im screwed!!! Need more pushing!! Help! Okay how is the Colorado on accuracy?

  16. Okay I will clarify losing my Vista to my wife. She has taken a great liking to geo caching and has hijacked mine as her own. I work alot so on good days her and the kids go out looking for swag. She even opened her own account and is way ahead of me in finds. Its great though the kids get out into the outdoors they get to learn and I think it is just awesome that they can do this. Its better then setting around the old house watching the boob tube all day! other things that I have read is the CO 300 will be obsolete in a year or to and they crash all the time. Is garmin still making this unit better and trying to improve it?
  17. I now have a Vista hcx and looks like I am losing it to my wife. I have a chance to buy a Colorado 300 for a super low price that is new in box and has not been used. I am worried about the software issues, accuracy and reliability. I will be using it for lots of geo caching, marking my favorite fishing holes, backpacking and traveling. I know I am beating a dead horse and not trying to start a war but am looking for that little push to pull the trigger. Thanks in advance
