I see that 2.57 firmware for the Explorist 500 European model is posted again on the Magellan site. Does any one know if it is worth downlading it?

Next time you drive to work set up a new track, when you arrive a work save the track. when you drive home open the track and use the backtrack or reverse track. I play with this feature all the time when I travel to places around twin Falls, ID. Have fun!

I have the Magellan 500LE (color screen) that I picked up for $200 & I have had no trouble useing it. It even works in the house.

I have the 500LE and I love the unit. Mine came with the rechargable battery & the AAA battery clip.

I have had great service with my Magellan 500LE for the free offer for the AC charger, Sent in the offer and in less than 3 weeks I recived it in the mail and my 500LE worked great on a trip from Twin Falls, Idaho to Medford, Oregon.

I bought my 500LE from Cabela's a month ago, it came with a battery and the battery clip. Also a free offer for a AC battery charger and a special offer for Topo 3D for $9.99. The AC battery charger came in about 2 weeks after I sent in the coupon. I have NO complaints on how this unit works. It works in the house and finds all the satellites for a 3D fix.

I have the 500LE, picked it up at Cabelas in Boise & tested it with the AAA battery clip on the trip back to Twin Falls, ID got 4 hrs +. In the box was a rechargable battery with an offer for a free AC battery charger and a good buy for topo 3d software. Been charging the battery with my Laptop till the AC charger comes in. Still learning how to use the unit but I am enjoying it!

I bought a 500LE last week and it came with the recargable battery & battery clip and with an offer for a free AC charger, and Mapsend Topo 3D for $9.99, all this for $199.99. The unit gave about 5 hours on 3 AAA batterys (I will use AAA's for back-up if the rechargable runs out of juice) Also works in my house, I can say it is a great unit. Having a ball learning how to use it.
