  1. Use a card reader and upload directly to the memory card.
  2. You need to get gpsbabel to convert from KML to GPX format that Mapsource can then load.
  3. If it's anything like what it was doing for me then I needed to run it as administrator to get it to open up OK. I think that it happened when I had installed a couple of different map sets and one of them changed permissions in the registry, I ended up deleting the install and then reinstalling the various maps again but in a different order and it was all OK again after that ... so far.
  4. Just been lurking here for a while and have no interest in the geocahing, but this board seems to be one of the more informative ones about different types of GPS'es and how to use them, and various threads on here helped me with picking which GPS unit to get myself originally.
  5. Here is a Google earth track from when I was skiing in Mottaret a few weeks ago and apparently I clocked up 75kph at some points.
  6. I had my 60csx in an inside pocket on the front of my jacket whilst skiing in the Alps recently and didn't have a problem with it keeping a fix. Just make sure it not in a position thats going to hurt if/ when you land on it.
  7. Just be careful not to screw up the change over when it happens and end up in the same situation as Ireland was until a year ago. Pretty much everything was changed to metric years ago including all road signs, except they never got round to changing the speed limits so you would see the distance to the next town in kilometres but the speed limit was in miles.
  8. No, but it does mean that someone involved in the setting up of that customer service center is an idiot becasue they have not given the staff the tools needed to carry out their job to the satisfaction of their customers.
  9. I seem to remember seeing something recently about how using a GPS in China would be considered as spying so that could be why they are not answering a foreigner, maybe.
