  1. Metroguide 5 will work, but you might want to dump that laptop solution when you see how sweet the 60c(s) navigates.
  2. Where in TN?!?Id hate for it to be intercepted bwahaahha
  3. Use easymps to send a gpx file to Mapsource, and then upload from there. your symbols will still be there!
  4. I use velcro for my mount and it works great!
  5. Why do you want to route from mapsource? All you need is 1 waypoints (the end point) and the maps loaded per Team BlackZs post. It should autoroute on the basemap itself on major highways and interstates, even if no maps are loaded.
  6. I guess you could do that, or just load the maps to the gps (with routing data) and tell the gps to "follow the road" to a waypoint, and let the gps tell you the optimal way (which isn't always optimal, but doesnt do bad at all)
  7. I use GSAK at home and Watcher at work. No setup required for Watcher! (and none allowed at work)
  8. My 60c will be obselete in a few hours... wahhhh (JK)
  9. and be sure and check the box on the lower left that says include routing data I learned the hardway
  10. Exactly what I need. may have to pick one up. Thanks for the pictures!
  11. Good point BA. That would also work. Thanks!
  12. Can you give us a pic to see how it looks in the case? That case looks a little tight.
  13. 500 max caches - 150 found caches = 350 NF caches (if I include found). If I don't include found caches, I get all 500 not found, but GSAK won't update my found caches, because it receives no new one. Therefore I can do one of two things: 1 Use multiple PQ or Use 1 PQ and delete the database on each load. I havent decided which I am going to do as of yet.
  14. When you save your tracks, it dumps some of the track points, hence you lose some precision, so your track is going to be off, at least in the garmin world. Answer here is not to save the track, perhaps?
  15. Rosco, I think you are missing the point somewhat. There are 6 zillion caches in the Nashville area. I have 150 finds. If I only run 1 PQ, the maximum number of not found caches is now 350 when 500+ are out there. Hence I may miss a cache I would have wanted to hit.
  16. Clyde & Olar, I understand your rationale. But right now I've got 150+ caches and since you are relegated to 500, that only leaves 350 caches. Normally that would be great, but I commute 30 miles to work and I don't want to start missing caches due to caches I've found. Everytime I download my latest PQ, I ALWAYS have 500 caches (and thats throwing out virtuals). I am going to try just creating one query for Not Found and Another for Found, and do it that way for a while. Notheless thanks for a great program!
  17. Is the autonav kit out? I want a decent case for mine!
  18. As far as the "IDF" I knew you and ~99% of the others would love this the best. Just me being anal. After I checked the box, GSAK works great. Thanks! EDIT:I thought I would attempt to explain the rationale of not wanting a database. The reason is that in my PQ for my area I ask for all unfound caches. If I dump this into GSAK, the caches I have found since the last update are naturally not updated. hence I need a seperate PQ for found caches to update GSAK correctly. I basically just download GPX on demand, so its easiest just to download 1 rather than 2. Basically I am lazy
  19. OK, I am sure I am going to get slammed for this, but Im going to say this anyway. GSAK is a very nice program. There is really only one feature I don't like. Here goes. *GULP* I do not like the independent database feature of GSAK. I would like it to always ask for a gpx file to load. Time after time I end up deleting all caches, and then loading the gpx file back. Any chance of this being an option? Thanks for listening *ducks for cover*
  20. Are you sure you downloaded the routing info from city select? Check out this thread
  21. IMO its simply for eye fatigue. While driving at night, you don't want a very bright GPS distracting you for hours on end.
