I want to adopt a Geocache from an inactive Owner who confirmed to me that I could do so. The problem is that he didn't initiate the normal process and hasn't been online since he answered my request. Is there any way I can adopt the geocache?

Hi, Could all of the search options of the advanced search from the website be included as filters in the app? This would make it possible, for example, to look for challenge caches, which is currently only possible on the website by filtering for the word challenge in the geocache name.

Maybe I haven't asked the question correctly. I want to hide a Wherigo cache which you preferably do by mountainbike. The route that you will take is given, there are only three or four questions asked on an 18 km trail, but the cachers should stay on a specific track where they will have a nice biking experience. Maybe I found a solution myself: I create zones which match the track between the questions and an extra zone for each question / cache. Like that I can always activate one zone after another and also disable them directly after I don't need them anymore. This would be doable, wouldn't it?

Is it possible to include the track into the Wherigo then?

Hi, I want to build a Wherigo where the cacher is given a route on which he should travel and then the Wherigo announces if there is something to be seen near the route. For this it would be ideal if i can supply the cacher with a gpx file so he can follow this and I only haave to worry about my interesting zones in the cartridge. Is this somehow possible on standalone GPSses? (I don't want to exclude those who don't use a smartphone)

Beim planen von zukünftigen Geocaching Runden bin ich auf die Redrock trails getroffen. Auf den Trails scheinen einige Geocaches zu liegen, bin da aber noch nicht gewesen.

It came to my mind that it was said that after a year there was the possibility of the creation of a new cache type. Any news on this?

I like the changes to "My list", but in addition to the already mentionned problem of not being able to edit the bookmark, I would like to be able to get to the My Lists page right off the starting page. So far (to my knowledge) it is only possible over the dropdown list "play" to get to the PQs but not to the bookmark lists.

I think it would be a good idea to have the possibility to vote on forum posts, as it then would be more visible which ideas / criticisms / whatever are popular and which are not. Currently you can only see based on the reply count how many are interested but not what their position to the theme is.

I know it's not exactly what you proposed to do, but you could also make a Wherigo cache if it fits in your concept. The scripting language would be lua.

How about 360° Challenges?

They are not that scattered, for example the listings for Germany, France, Italy and Spain run from one common server. On the other hand the other existing services do run all on different servers. I'm not sure, as I'm not part of the forum of the other listing services, but it seems to me that they do effort to merge the databases.

De- and re- installed the app, it works now

Since the last update (4.6) the app stopped working for me. When I open it, the loading circle with a white screen just turns and turns, whiteout coming to an end. I have android 5.0.

I'm not long enough part of Geocaching to properly evaluate this, but I believe that in a business where the profit "goes into someone's private wallet" decisions are rather made for the sake of the profit, whereas I think that in a non-profit business the decisions would rather be in favour of the community. I am aware that both do not exclude each other, as the community is also the costumer.

Hi, I'm on holiday in sardinia and have been on some beautiful places where there wasn't a Geocache, so I thought it might be a good idea to collect places somewhere so a (future) local Geocacher could hide some in these places. For me there are two places where absolutely should be a Geocache: Cala Goloritze (N 40°06.480' , E 09°41.390') -- There are two caches uphill but none dedicated to the wonderful bay itself A ridge near Monte Senes (N 40°29.084' , E 09°38.583') -- A view of the sea to both sides, aswell as a great view of the mountains around I hope someone appreciates this. Hi, Some days ago someone asked me if I don't find it sad that geocaching is marketed by a for profit company. I answered that I find it okay to pay my 30€ to a firm which tries to generate profit out of it. Since then I was thinking a bit about this subject and became curious how it actually came to the current situation. I don't know if I only have done bad searching but as far as I could get is that the same person who registered geocaching.com also set up Groundspeak. Was there any controverse at that time? Was there a community decision or was it just happening? Thanks for any answer that helps me understanding the how and why. Pingurus

I found why I couldn't log 'needs Maintenance' It is not possible to change a 'Notification' log into a 'needs Maintenance' log.

I try to log a 'needs Maintenance', but I can't select it on the dropdown list.
