  1. What do you mean by lock? You can combine gpx files too, just remove the last closing tag and the first tag, that should work. (Not 100% sure, don't have a gpx file handy right now) Also, if you're using a GPS, you just can put all the files on their own into the gpx folder and all the caches will be visible too.
  2. You could report the user to Groundspeak. If the case is clear, the account might be deleted, as happened once in my region.
  3. I'm not sure wether you're aware or not, but Geocaching started in May 2000.. So if the logbook is the original one, chances are good that it is one of the oldest ones, if not the oldest
  4. You can use project-gc.com to display your statistics. There you will not only see your oldest found caches, but also have tools to search for missing months or simply the oldest caches.
  5. Not sure wether that counts as decoy, but I once found a D5 Cache, which was hidden in a wine barrel. At the same wine barrel there were hidden four or five other containers , each containing a paper "this would have been a D2" or similar, which I found was great.
  6. One has to look at the data with care though. The numbers for the last week are usually negative, since updating their database has a time lag. Same goes for the last month, but the effect is lower. If you look at the maximum range available ( January 1st until today), the number of active cachers and of found caches are only down by 2% and 4%. So I'd say, yes there's a decline but nothing dramatic. That the number of hides drop is probably because of saturation, and there's nothing we can do about it except archiving the caches that don't get maintained.
  7. Respecting the forum guidelines we can't really give more advice than to read the cache description and the hint properly, since the instrucions are given on the page on how to solve the geocaches.
  8. I checked, the cliffs are not marked on OSM. If you insert them, they will appear in the Thunderforest Landscape map. However the Geocaching map does not include cliffs, so @Geocaching HQ, please add those, since they are an important feature, as seen in @barefootjeff case.
  9. Great changes, however the map doesn't differentiate between tracks and roads (see below). Whilst this is no issue for people driving a 4x4 or similar, all the others can't use the map to know where they can drive through and where not. Similar goes for those caching by bike. Whilst fixing this it would be nice to directly include the grade information from the osm data data. Also, on some zoom levels the streets are only "visible" as very thin lines. How do you get to that cache in the top right? Is there a road? First sight no, second sight maybe, after zooming in you can see that there is a road. (Although it also may be a track, see my first point)
  10. Hi, Did anyone else have a window popping up when opening the Geocaching map? I'm curious because I accidentally closed the browser window (the questions didn't come up another time) and thus the last question I saw is whether I would like to do a Skype interview. So I was wondering how widespread this questionnaire is?
  12. As premium member you can do pocket queries and filter for caches that have the kid friendly attribute.
  13. I think it is a great improvement, but would the owner related stuff and the hint to the bottom. How about putting the description underneath the D/T/size and expanding it to show the first 25 lines? That should be enough for most caches and for the others clicking on the text would open the complete listing, just as it does now.
  14. I am currently working on completing the 366 found days and some weeks ago I wasn't sure when/where I would have time to find a Geocache. So the night before I dreamt that I missed the moment to find a Geocache that day and that I would have to wait another year I found a Cache the next day, so everything was fine
  15. Short answer : No. A Cache needs to have a logbook per the guidelines. Exceptions are Virtuals and Earthcaches. So if you do have a virtual reward handy by accident, you could use that. A solution would be to engrave coordinates and then but a container with a logbook at the coordinates and call the whole thing a multi.
  16. We had one in a pond which has a wall on the one side. the Cache ws hidden inside one of the little cavities in the wall. It got muggled a few times, I don't know if it floated up or if some of the local kindergarden children found it whilst looking for amphibians in the pond. Eventually we archived it as it was gone too often and we had concerns wether the amphibians were disturbed or not.
  19. To learn from the archival of the old world Cache I'd suggest that the information needed to get the final coordinates is somehow recursive.
  20. Sounds cool, I'd be available if a stage in or near Karlsruhe, Germany, is needed!
  23. You could use project-gc.com and their map compare to show archived caches aswell.
