  1. regroupings sent (managed to get a mobile data connection from our camp site )
  2. Ouch. If the numbers are messed up I will hold fire to put in my regrouping - but that may mean that I can't now get the regroup email in for 2 or 3 days as we're away camping...
  3. There is one on ebay right now, but the bidding ends in about a half hour and it's up to $66.00 already! Wow - it went for $73.00! At that price I think I will sell mine!
  4. Hi LynxQc, The proper place to make these requests is in the GEOCOIN TRADING, WANTS, OFFERS AND LISTS - ALL TRADES MADE HERE, PLEASE REPLY TO TRADERS, IT'S A NICE THING thread that is pinned at the top of the Geocoin Discussions forum. That is where many of the coin trades hang out, or keep an eye on. You could also find the original thread for this geocoin and ask in there, as several others have. But you shouldn't create a new thread each time you are looking for a geocoin - this was the exact reason that the GEOCOIN TRADING, WANTS, OFFERS AND LISTS - ALL TRADES MADE HERE, PLEASE REPLY TO TRADERS, IT'S A NICE THING thread was started in the first place - to stop the Geocoin Discussions forum getting filled up with coin requests. There is another informal rule in here regarding "One coin, one thread" - ie. everything to do with any particular geocoin should be contain in one thread, so that information about it is kept in one place. It just makes sense Regards, keewee
  5. Hi Jessica and welcome to the forums. There are some topics pinned at the top of the Geocoin Discussions forum area which contain most of the information you'll need, and they contain links to the Geocoins/Trackable Knowledgebook. Ranger Roo and Gitchee-Gummee don't quite have it right... It is your coin (you purchased it), therefore it is entirely up to you as to whether you leave it unactivated as a FTF prize for your cache, leave it as swag, or if you activate it yourself and send it traveling. BUT - the most important thing is to clearly label the coin as to what your intentions are for it. If you are leaving it as an unactivated FTF prize then make sure you leave a note with it stating that it is the FTF prize and that the person who gets it is free to do with it as they please. If you are leaving it as swag, then again, clearly label it as such and the if someone takes it as swag then they are expected to leave something similar in its place. (Good luck with that happening) If you are activating it to go traveling, label as such with a note of its mission and asking people to move it along. One of the biggest points of confusion out there (especially with new geocachers, but happens to all of us) is finding unactivated coins in a cache, with no note and the finder having no idea if they are allowed to take it, if they can activate it or if they should be trading for it. Please clearly label your coins as to your intentions for it.
  6. I am clearing out a box of geocoins and am putting together 10 grab bags of 5 geocoins each for US$36 per grab bag (not including shipping) Note: All prices are in US dollars. These geocoins are from 2006 to 2011 and include event coins, personals, club coins and some limited edition geocoins. All are unactivated and trackable at geocaching.com Each grab bag will have at least: - 1 club coin and matching pin - 1 personal geocoin - 3 other geocoins (no duplicates) Grab Bags are US$36 each (excludes shipping) Postage is going to be the killer for me getting these out to you, sorry but can't be helped (if it is any consolation I am making a loss on the postage and packaging!): Shipping New Zealand: US$4.50 Australia: US$6.00 US/Canada: US$10.00 Rest of World: US$11.50 If buying more than one then the shipping only goes up by about a half for the second one. (contact me and I can work it out and let you know) They will be shipped loose in a bubble mailer, with a customs forms with a declared value of NZ$55 If you want a grab bag, email me craig.elms @ gmail.com with your gc nick, your full name and address, and how many grab bags you are after. First in first served. Payment by PayPal only - I will contact you with the total owing if you are successful in getting one. Thanks.
  7. Yes - very nice design!! Will have to see if I can acquire one. This geocoin has a lot of potential - would be great for a group coin.
  8. Going by the poor topic line and lack of real detail in the first post I seriously thought this ws just another spam thread!! tony1959 - please put a little more thought into what you post - in this situation you should frame it up in your post to get peoples interest, otherwise the vast majority of people are just going to pass your post by. Please take this as being constructive. Thanks.
  9. Read the whole thread - they're already made - way back at the start of May (see post #25)!
  10. Nice geocoin, is it a generic die used on the reverse side of the coin, or custom? Plus - I can't see Groundspeak being too happy about you using their registered trademark on your website! I hope you have approval for that.
  11. The Alchemists Magnus Opus geocoins were available originally through Geoswag, but they've been all sold out for a while now. So your only options are to get a trade from someone, or buying one from eBay, etc.

    Clay Coins

There have been trackable clay geocoins around since late 2007/early 2008, at least. There are a number of different ones out there - designs that were approved by Groundspeak to be made in clay. The first ones took ages as a lot of testing was done with material to get the clay mixture right, thickness, etc, etc all sorted. There are also a lot of sigitems out there made of clay - so of them with Tracking Numbers on them that have been taken from dog tags, etc.

    Clay Coins

Here is one of the threads you'll find in the search, there are betters ones on the clay topic too to be found in the search Newbie Geocoin making question - Want to make our own coins - wondering about tracking how to's

    Clay Coins

If you know the answer to my question may you please explain it to me? I would be greatful for the answer. thank you To get tracking numbers from Groundspeak you need to come up with a design that they will have to approve. They you are able to buy Tracking numbers from them. I'm not sure of the minimum number, it use to be 200 or 250, but I think it is now less - might be 50. But you'll need to confirm this. The other route people take is they create something, buy the cheapest trackable items they can find (I guess that would be trackable tags these days) and they use the tracking numbers off the tags on their own items. Thus not requiring a minimum number if tracking numbers be purchased, or approval of the design by Groundspeak. As I said before - there is a wealth of information out there and all you do by not searching it is re-invent the wheel with yet another thread on the same topic. Just search clay geocoins in this forum (go to Geocoin Discussions and use the search window towards the top right, words need to be 4 letters or longer) and you will get some fantastic threads discussing what a geocoin is/can be, how to get tracking numbers for them, best way to deal with clay, etc, etc. ETA - there is some very important information in those pinned threads about geocoins, and the forums - stuff you might not get from other geocachers or might not think of so it is important that you read those please.
  15. I'm pretty sure there is info around in the Knowledge books or in the pinned topics about it, so again - do some reading. There are some amazing gems of information to be found by those who put in the effort. I usually search the forums on various coins and topics several times a day, and there can be a lot of results to wade through, but by the same token I have found out some really cool and amazing things in the process.
  16. If doing it through this site, then you list what you are seeking and/or what you have to trade in the GEOCOIN TRADING, WANTS, OFFERS AND LISTS - ALL TRADES ARE MADE HERE thread. Someone will contact you via your profile if they have what you are after and you come to an arrangement and them you both post the coins off to one another. Only the initial request is made via this site, the rest of it happens offsite, and Groundspeak don't want to know anything about it - it is at your own risk. If all goes bad then they don't want to hear about it.

    Clay Coins

Hi there. You really need to read the topics pinned at the top of the Geocoin Discussions forum and the Trackables Knowledge books (accessible from the Trackable Items homepage). Plus search these forums using the appropriate terms and you will come up with a wealth of knowledge and information to answer you questions.
  18. Hi. You want to go to the following thread and post your request in there as that is the appropriate place for it. In future, you can find this thread pinned at the top of the Geocoin Discussions forum. GEOCOIN TRADING, WANTS, OFFERS AND LISTS - ALL TRADES ARE MADE HERE
  19. Nope you wouldn't GG Tho if people are still waiting I may have jumped the gun and e-mailed Steph asking if there was a delay, sorry Steph!I should have checked the forums first! Yours can't be far away - mine has arrived.
  20. My 2 turtles arrived today also. Yay! Another great Tsun design
  21. +1 - I really, really, really wish Groundspeak would sort this, but for the sake of a very, very, VERY small number of coins which truely are designated as collectible they seem to see fit to confuse and annoy everyone else with this STUPID option! I wish they would stop trying to develop new features, and fix the issues they have got right now!
