  1. Thank you! Wow - that was fast. I am the owner and have the other half of the TB at home with the secret number. Thanks so much - greatly appreciated.
  2. I am the owner of a new TB and placed him a couple weeks ago in a cache. I dropped him and he showed up in the cache's inventory just fine. Another cacher came along and grabbed him. However, he doesn't understand how to "drop" the bug into a new cache so he simply physically left it in a new cache without "dropping" it. So it is still officially in his inventory even though he left it elsewhere. I emailed him and he isn't too cooperative as he feels the instructions are too confusing. Anway, I think what I need to do is "grab" the bug from him and "drop" it into the cache that he left it at. So far nobody has logged a find at the new cache so I assume it's still there. I can't find any instructions on how to grab the bug from this guy. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. 628 caches with 100 miles of my postal code here in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Wow.
  4. Oh dear. I'm the one who originally asked this question and began the thread. I was pretty happy with the replies so we went ahead and created the cache. However, a local cacher has pointed out there are more concerns about the location: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=50952 VIGUY is the one who posted the latest info on the location. Now I now what the guy wearing lightweight clothing (no jacket) was doing in the woods in the winter.
  5. Does anyone have any recommendations for software for translating between the various co-ordinate systems, or doing math on locations (like go 18000m W and 2040m N) ? PC, Mac, Palm Pilot? Let us know..
  6. Thank you so much everybody! The postings have been very helpful. We're going to go ahead and hide the cache later today. I will write up a description that clearly states that the cache is in the vicinity of a nude beach. I will also try to make the cache hidden so that you can access it without being in sight of the beach. And as somebody suggested, maybe put the word "nude" in the title so everybody is clear what they're getting in to. I feel kind of silly making such a big deal out of such a little thing but I truly don't want people annoyed with me. Hopefully the cache gets approved by the powers that be. Again, thank you all! If you're ever in Victoria, BC, Canada, come find our cache.
  7. Shannah - hmmm, good points. Now I'm reconsidering.
  8. Bob K - but that's just it - I don't want it to be a surprise. I want to put "caution - nude beach nearby" on the info page. That way everybody is aware of what they're looking for. Informed consent. I would also venture to guess that the majority of adults would not be offended to be in the vicinity of a nude beach.
  9. $115 US for the Garmin eTrex. And gas money. That's it.
  10. Is it OK to leave a new cache near a nude beach? There are lots of hiking trails near the beach and it seems like it would be a perfect location. The beach is primarily used in the summer months. Don't want to offend anybody :-)
