  1. Same issue here. On the site you can hide the unwanted messages but in the app they stay visible. Got some nasty spam from a freak I want to get rid off!
  2. Just one thing I don't like about the new logging page when converting drafts in full logs: after each log it opens the cachepage of the log you just wrote. I don't understand the logic of this and it's absolutely not handy when you have a whole bunch of drafts to log.
  3. I wouldn't be too sure of that! Why is it then that if one goes to the Garmin download page of the plugin it clearly shows that the plugin is already installed and up to date? And it is visible and active in the Safari Preferences. Couldn't it be that there has to be done some code tweaking on the geocaching.com pages to meet with new functionality? Had no problems using the communicator plugin on my iMac running OS X 10.11 till last friday. Yesterday I upgraded it to macOS 10.12 and now I can't get it working again using Safari. With Firefox it works just fine. I guess it's a combination of factors that create the problem.
  5. Same problem here... Looks to me like Groundspeak has to change something to their website to get things running again. The plugin is installed (the Garmin test page says so, and I can see the plugin installed in the Safari Preferences under Security --> Plugins. So it is installed but for some reason de geocaching pages can't find it.
  6. There's no excuse for replacing a perfectly working app by an app with a whole lot less functionality than the one it's replacing! And that as nothing to do with budgets but with priority's!
  7. I've been using the "Classic" Geocaching app from the day it came available on the iPhone. In the beginning it wasn't all that great, and it took several YEARS to become the app it now is (or was). Quite usable and complete. Although there were some features I never saw implemented (probably because they were very hard to realize) like the ability to add pictures to a field note for example. And there were things implemented in ways I never understood like making a "real" log standard behavior in favorite of a field note. Field notes should get WAY more attention from Groundspeak. As the log is the only reward the CO gets from a found Groundspeak should encourage cachers to write a nice log. Something that isn't very often done on the small screen of a "smart device". After checking out the "New" Geocaching app for some time now I'm astonished to find out that the field note functionality has been left out completely! Together with the crippled functionality for the free members this shows what it's all about nowadays at GSHQ. And oh boy... how slow has this app become! Even at home on WIFI it takes ages for the caches to show up on the map. And all the animated bouncing style page scrolling make the app laggy and unresponsive on my not really THAT old iPhone 5s. I've the impression 90% of the effort went to esthetic redesign and 10% to the functionality behind it. And that is well... just dreadful. I understood from another topic that GS has the intention to implement all the functionality from the "old" app in the "new" one. Well... if I see how many years it took to get the "old" app to the level it's now I won't be holding my breath on the time we have to wait to get the "new" one fully functional.
  8. It's been a while, but still missing this feature in the app...
  9. Seems like a major issue since it still needs fixing! That's an issue that needs fixing for ages now! The concept of using the timestamp of the device that's used to log a cache instead of the server timestamp seems too difficult to implement for Groundspeak. It's that or they don't care about their users outside the US of A.
  10. It's hidden under the dots in the upper right corner when you are on the cache detail page. Not how I would like to see it...
  11. In addition I can confirm that corrected coordinates are NOT transferred to the app.
  12. Another nice feature would be to have the possibility to exclude the caches with a found fieldnote from the search results. It would make selecting the next target while caching a lot easier, especially in heavily congested areas. Don't get me wrong, I like the app very much! I'm using it for years now and it's worth every cent to me! But I see opportunitys to make it even better!
  13. I couldn't agree more!!! I don't like how the fieldnotes feature is tucked away. Writing nice log's (the only way you have to thank a CO for it's hide!!!) isn't something I want to do on the little screen of my iPhone. I would even say that a fieldnote log should be default behaviour! The way the logging functionality is implemented now encourages the writing of meaningless TFTC or at least short logs. And what would REALY be great is the possibilty to add pictures and trackable drop's to fieldnote log's.
  14. You can say whatever you want now... Verifiable or not, censored or not, deleted or not. Can't you understand we simply don't care what you say anymore? You (and by you I mean Groundspeak and co) have been ignoring us for weeks now and all we saw happening from you side is posts getting deleted. So clearly you were monitoring and well aware of the situation but you don't care enough about your (european) customers to join in on the debate. You consider this respectful? You consider this better comunication? If there's one thing I have learned during the years, and has been proven again bij this case, it's that Groundspeak DOES NOT WANT TO INTERACT with its users. I did some sugestions in the past but Groundspeak even doesn't care enough to respond anything. Just plain silence. So I gave up... And here it's the same story... The let us vent our frustrations and that's it, no interaction. I'm going to give up on Groundspeak, they will NEVER learn proper comunication!
  15. Proximity rules aren't an issue in the same cache! You could use a number lock instead of one with a key. Hide the code and instructions to get to the final stage in the first stage. No downtime, no issues with returning the key.
  16. True... I agree the vat system probably isn't easy to grasp. But THAT IS NOT OUR CONCERN! If Groundspeak wants to play with the big boys running a multinational they have to have their stuff together BEFORE they implement it! Thinking long and hard en learning curves are just a crappy excuse for incompetence! And that's exactly what Groundspeak is doing at all levels lately: the keyword search puts to much load on the servers so instead of figuring it out they just cripple the functionality; it seems like they have to start charging vat for European users so instead of calculating it correctly they charge something that is correct for nobody... That might be good enough for a little hobby club in a little rural town but if you want to play with the big boys "almost" simply isn't good enough!
  17. Sadly it seems indeed like that's the only language Groundspeak understands. I renewed my premium membership the end of February. If I were up to renew now I certainly would think twice! Like almost everybody here it's not about the money for me, but about the way Groundspeak treats us. It's time they start realising that whitout us there would be no 2 million caches to show off with!
  18. I don't agree with that completely. What about the non premium users? They pay completely nothing and they play the game too. And that's perfectly fine by me. But what if a whole bunch of premiums decide to not renew their membership? Will Groundspeak raise their price for the premiums again then to keep things in balance? So those who willingly decided to (financially) support Groundspeak will be punished again? If they need to raise the price to keep things running there is something very wrong with their business model because by doing so they are digging their own grave.
  19. It looks to me like Groundspeak is waiting for things to blow over all by itself like they tend to do usually. But I think (at least I hope!) it won't. As far I'm concerned they've stepped on way to many (European) toes this time. Oh yeah Groundspeak: thank you for deleting, censoring, one of my previous posts. It gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling to see how much you care about what I wrote.
  20. You just made me laugh! It's ok to treat every single European like an idiot but beware of blasphemy!!! I think you have a BIG problem with priorities back there in Seatle. Besides of that the official statement given sounds like a lot of air. With every debacle it's comming clearer and clearer to me: Groundspeak does not want to interact with their users. They just want us to shut up and listen to what they impose! Best proof of this are the former feedback portals that were shutdown. And even in this forum there is way to little interaction with the members to really proof they care about us and our ideas. How do you expect us to pay our respect to the Groundspeak employees after the respect-less way you keep treating your customers. You have been loosing credit several times in the past, but this time you nailed it!
  21. I'm once again baffled by the amateurism of the company Groundspeak. You keep goofing things up time after time up to a point where it start looking like you're doing it intentionally! Really guys: get yourselves a good communications expert, a customer satisfaction expert, and well... Maybe hire a database expert too... Seriously!
  22. Like the update! But I miss the +/- buttons in the map screen too. And adding the possibility to add pictures and drop trackables in fieldnotes would make it the perfect tool to me. Adding pictures to fieldnotes would really encourage me to add more pictures to my logs! At this time it's a mayor pita! And dropping trackables in fieldnotes will avoid of making mistakes with the dropping of the trackables in the correct cache after a long day of caching.
  23. +1 And adding the possibility to add a picture and a tb drop to a fieldnote log would be nice too!
  24. No of course not! Just like every single suggestion made by users in the past year! I've the impression that all development by Groundspeak came to a standstill... Even worse: it looks like functionality is being downgraded!
  25. So it's pretty much a useless option. Writing a full log on a phone is a major pita and does not encourage the writing of nice extensive logs. I consider the app ideal to post small fieldnotes which can be reviewed and promoted to full logs afterwards. In my opinion more should be done to enhance the posibilitys of fieldnotes!
