  1. Thanks for the cointest! A turquoise shade of green, perhaps? Or maybe you have a different auto since this picture!
  2. Email sent, now that the first few waves of updates have reduced the list down to something my feeble brain can digest in one pass!
  3. I thought V1 Earth Turtles were all the same except for the metals... in the gallery the 2008 Earth Turtles are listed as v1, and last years are just listed as Earth Turtle. Thanks for the clarification. I guess there are a couple of versions of the '08 turtles? The 2008 v2 turtles are somewhere between taking reservations and being minted, I think....check out tsun's site for specific details. Also I think one of the 2008 v2 editions is a remint of one of the 2008 v1 editions, just in case you weren't confused enough yet!
  4. Hmm, that email address bounced, 2nd try through profile contact....
  5. Got my copper feather in the mail today, WOW what a great gift for puzzle solving! Thanks for the humongous cointest!!
  6. Email sent thru link on coin tracking site.
  7. I'm definitely in favor of pin(s) as well, got the 2007 on my lanyard! When possible, I like to buy pins in bulk, make great swag to leave behind if the cost gets down to between $1 and $2 per pin. That and there is a local pin collector who pounces on me the second he sees me at an event that got one of the 2007 pins from me, I'll need a "backup" pin to keep mine safe!
  8. To circumvent the customs form giving away any secret sender info, you could mail the package to a proxy in the same foreign country, and have an inside envelope labeled ready for the proxy to add postage and drop in the mail. Course then you'd have to arrange for someone else to do the same thing in reverse so that the final recipient was the proxy for the other person, don't want to leave anyone out! Edit to add: Doh, just realized E&Cplus3 pretty much just said the exact same thing!
  9. Woo hoo, got the coin today! Now I'm stuck on the 14th puzzle, and had no luck getting a hint with the hint-o-matic button. The whole 1 in 12 odds is killing me!
  10. I guess I'd go for door #4 Similar to the 12 days of caching or puzzle set of geocoins, have each one be large enough to be a regular coin with a tracking number, and the combination of the correct 6 "slices" would give you the full text on the back side of the coins. Getting either all 6 to be the same color or all different colors would be extra credit for the trader(s) involved! The set of royal flush poker geocoins certainly lead to a bunch of trading, but I think that was more because each one was trackable, not sure I could justify the postage of mailing around to 5 different folks to collect the tiny color swatches to attach to the main coin. Although that would increase the cost significantly for a collector trying to assemble a full wheel, as well as the size of the mint run in order to produce the same number of sets. Doh!
  11. Wow, what a great photo-journal thread! Even though I've been to a bunch of the numerous places in the US and Canada shown in various pictures in this thread, seeing pics of enticing new places outside my usual travel paths and alluring pics of places I've already visited, makes me want to start that list of "100 places to (re)visit before I'm dirt!" Catching up on this thread, some of the pics are truly stunning, voting for a favorite will be a serious challenge!
  12. If you see me making that sign (well with puffed out cheeks), means I'm feeling ill and am looking for a place to throw up!!
  13. So should the numeral 6 be written as VI or IV?
  14. Very cute! Are you entertaining trades, or is this a sale-only coin?
  15. If you mean the Wildlife Muggles series, I've got several different ones on my available list (and a few of them not on my list that are available if those aren't the ones your looking for)
  16. Wow does that blue look purdy! Couldn't resist adding my email to the queue!!
  17. Well, if the forum moderators are going to take up the task of labeling ALL threads, here's a few categories for ya in addition to mission/cointest/race! Mystery coins: OHPLEASEGIVEMEONE Testing the waters for new coin ideas: COINSIDERING Boasting about upcoming coins: COINDNTHELPMYSELF What the heck have I done/should I do with this coin I found?: WTHCOINFUSION Donate coins to my event!: ALMSFORTHEPOOR Looking to trade for/buy older coins: GIMMEEOLDCOINS Looking to trade for/buy recent coins: GIMMEECOINS Selling older trackable coins: MORTGAGEDUE Storing/organizing: COINPILEBEGONE I don't like this coin/person: COINFU I'm sure there are more!
  18. I'm pretty sure that somewhere in Montana there is a thoroughbred horse named "Cointest" Ok, in all seriousness, I really do think that most cointests, missions and races are a great thing. A lot of them bring the community together and foster relationships that tend to last a long time. Perhaps we are attacking this from the wrong angle.... How about moving all the "Psst, hey buddy, buy my new coin!!" threads to a new forum?
  19. As much as I like cointests and missions, they do in my mind distract from the topic at hand: information about future, present and past geocoins. Cointests and missions should definitely be a new and distinct sub-forum of the "Geocaching Hitchhikers" group. Look at Wherigo: 4 top level forums with a group heading. Look at Waymarking: Another 4 top level forums as a group. Look at GPS related topics: Do the distinct topics for GPS in Education and GPS Garage Sale really deserve a split from the GPS and Technology forum any more than cointests and missions from general geocoin info? Given that I'm providing a not so insignificant part of the annual funding of Groundspeak through the purchase of geocoins, I think this topic needs to be addressed more by Groundspeak itself and less by the volunteer forum moderators, since they have no vested financial interest in keeping coin collectors like myself happy. Edit to add: Geocoin "races" should also fall under the heading of non-informational threads to shuffle off to the new forum. As the coordinator of a race, I'm all for moving my race thread off to a new home!
  20. You should have my address but if you don't let me know. Oh yeah, guess I've got yours on file from the PGR I'll send it out with the first batch of winning coins, so probably early next week.
  21. Ok, finally pulling down the FINAL standings for the race, just a matter of weeding out logs after the event weekend, and seeing who all made it to the event and got pics! Don't forget that any entrant in the race is entitled to a race-only edition of the Hippie Bus pin, still got a pile of 'em to mail out to folks that haven't sent me a snail-mail address.
  22. Wow, some of those racers are using nitro, I think! Was thinking I was only a few hundred miles out of first, and suddenly I'm once again more than a few thousand miles back!
