  1. aw ffs another mad h@ter/muddy legs camping event that I'm going to miss!
  2. I was thinking of something along these lines! Though the local "motley crew" of OXON cachers have suggested DigitalJim, a name I've been called by JollyJax as it's a little easier! I turned up to my first event cache to be asked who I was.. "Well... 0100101001010010!!" It's bad enough trying to sign 0100101001010010 in a micro! Let alone THAT in a nano!
  3. Got to be the best thing I've heard all day.
  4. Hear hear! I have just sent her a text message actually by coincidence. New mobile number Thanks mandarin, I think this thread in part has encouraged me to get back out there. I just need to conjour up an appropriate username.
  5. Well said Anyway back on topic, and saying what I missed off earlier, sorry to hear of your separation and hope to see you at an event soon. PS fancy organising the next Oxfordshire monthly meet Umm.. excuse me... I know I missed the mega bash and pirate mania.. but did I not organise the LAST oxfordshire monthly meet!?? Still I shall have to break in my new username when I decide what it's going to be. I think coming back in here and talking to old cachers has spurred me on to start caching again, the camping event was the last time I cached! Thanks again.
  6. Ah, the old "different rules for the UK section" debate, along with toe-ing the line around racism! What have I done!!?? I personally see no problem with the term "merkin" but as the powers that be, deccy and mandarin (who I've yet to become aquainted with) have said, some people do, and I have apologised to mandarin for any offence I may have caused. Still, I spend most days being called a pommie by australian friends, limey by american friends, and if I were to repeat what certain of my asian friends call me I'd be instabanned. I think political correctness can be taken too far, and feel that so called public open fora (forae?) tend to be policed rather more than is necessary. My comment was made in a light hearted manner, and should be taken so.

  8. Hiya, just thought I'd say thanks to everyone that I've met along my caching journey. Those that know us closely know that we have gone our separate ways, and whilst being a huge emotional blow, has rendered this username useless. (for those who know what it means at least!) I no longer feel motivated at all to go out caching! I'm sure I'll keep in touch with the local wotsits, and probably show my face at local shindigs, but I thought it fitting to thank everyone, and say that there will be no more caches found by this username. I have asked on a couple of occasions if this username could be changed, but after being ignored both by regional mods and the merkin organisation I feel it is a lost cause.. Perhaps I might cache again under another name. Thanks again, happy caching. Jim.
  9. I had a TB for a year and a month. The owner didn't mind, and it had quite a specific journey.
  10. I pay to go the dentist (occassionally) - but I don't expect them to pile the coffee tables in the waiting room with copies of Country Walking or MBR. The reading matter isn't my reason for being there - and as far as I know it's not included in what I pay for the treatment either. If I want to read CW or MBR I either go somewhere else that has them free to read, or I buy them. How many people still complaining about this forum and it's moderation actually pay Groundspeak specifically to use this forum, rather than to use the extras on the main Geocaching site? And yes - I know this is a bit of a volte face compared to my comments of several weeks ago - but really, people, it's time to move on...... Fair point, I hadn't thought about it that way. I agree, also, I'd rather just carry on talking about CACHING now instead of forum politics.
  11. Then it's up to them to stay loyal to this UK forum and sit it out, if they want to access things like that list that have been made here. Huhhhh, it was a joke - check out the smilies (in my original post, not the one you quoted which seems to have missed them off) Yeah bad quoting going on lol. No sorry I understand that it was a joke, there just seems to be a lot of huff and puff about migrating to GAGB or not! I just feel that instead of making such a fuss people should either just go, or stay here and get on with it! But anywho... I digress. Will be attending the OXON Camping event next month Can't wait to see everyone
  12. I'm 20 years old, and my "better" half is 18. We've been caching for however long it says in our profile (a couple of years I think haha) and we're still going strong, I like the caching, and she likes the walking. And that's that! But then again we might just be weird
  13. Then it's up to them to stay loyal to this UK forum and sit it out, if they want to access things like that list that have been made here.
  14. I've stopped reading the forums now generally. I just feel sad that as paying customers we are treated so badly and childishly by a so-called corporation.
  15. I don't remember putting myself on the list lol, but you're right, thats what days i want to stay Can I bring my caravan please. also, is it £8 per night or £8 for the stay? Tar.
  16. Good work. FYI, as a printing-out cacher, I can disable pictures and photos when I choose the printer-friendly page, so that shouldn't be a concern!
  17. lolol. I hope to see lots of you on Tuesday! And south of the county sounds good next month, Give bicester a rest!
  18. I tell you what, you need to be careful accepting webcam pictures from this horrible lot!! Welcome to geocaching!
  19. Brilliant! I'd like to know how long it took to write
  20. Gotcha, I'll place the blame on Messe for thinking there might of been a goodbye bash on the same date Good job he doesn't read the forum
