  3. Hi all, I have a garmin etrex venture cx, I dont use it a whole lot, so I may be doing something wrong or missing something. I just received Garmins bluechart for the Chesapeake US006R on microSD. I inserted the chip and it appears I am just getting the base map. Do I need to tell my gps to read from the microsd card or should it do it automaticly? Thanks for any help

  9. Ok, I have my PQ in GSAK, I have the cable to connect to gpsr. Where do I go in gsak to download the waypoints?
  10. I just figured out how to download my PQ to my palm, now I'd like to add the waypoint to my GPSr. Can this be done without manually entering them?
  11. So you can load your PQ into your gpsr? I was under the assumption that your loaded them into your palm from gsak and them manually entered them into the gpsr. I also have a garmin, how do you load them?
  12. How do you get to the PQ page from the home page?
  13. I just received the same unit from walmart.com, it was packaged the same way ( lose strap and clip adapter)
  14. Bingo, I was playing with it, and I did hit " reset to factory defaults". Ididnt think it would clear all the waypoints Well, I wont do that again. Thanks..Jeff
  15. I have a garmin venture cx, I had about 10 waypoints in it as of Sunday when I was out caching. Today I turn on the unit and there are no waypoints. Did I delete them all, somehow?
  16. I just got a palm z22, which I linked to my computer, I spent my $8 for the cachmate program and received my reg. code. When I try to install cachmate to my palm , in the "Confirm add Window" I add cachmate-4.1.2.zip, but it says "contains no compatible files. Do I need to unzip cachmate on my computer first, then install to palm? If so, what program do I use to unzip. Sorry, before I got into geocaching the only thing I used the computer for was ebay and dig. pics. Thanks...Jeff
  17. I just loaded gsak, its asked if I wanted to load some test waypoints, so I did. How do I clear the screen?
  18. Dont quote me on this. You should be able to download updates from garmin for your software package. I just had the same problem with Mapsource. My version was'ent giving me the detail, so I called Garmin, they had an updated version I need to download ( for free) to get my software to work. Of course I could be wrong, as I am still wet behind the ears with the GPS...Jeff
