Well done rodnjoan on your 7000 cache finds. Great to see that you still have time to enjoy caching and not only reviewing.
  2. It is great to see that this beautiful country of South Africa is so well represented with earth caches. These earth caches take you to interesting and amazing sites and you learn a little more about this part of the planet
  3. Thanks geoawareAFR... A big thank you for all the time and effort put into reviewing Earth Caches in South Africa. Much appreciated.

Congratulations to Navimate on reaching your 1000th and your 100 FTF on our Gubu Island GC47XY4 cache.
  9. Can someone help please …… The GSAK macro called FSGPlugin_FirstCacheByState.gsk was run for “First Cache by County” and the following discrepancies popped up. Is there a way to correct this situation? Sekhukhune [Mpumalanga] GCYDB2 Dankbare nageslag Sekhukhune [Limpopo] GC16VR6 A beautiful garden can be seen. Thabo Mofutsanyane [Free State] GCY1NM Memel Escarpment Thabo Mofutsanyane [Mpumalanga] GC14KN0 Roodedraai School Road Sisonke [Kwazulu Natal] GC1Z4YQ Yellow Wood Holy Trinity Church Sisonke [None] GC166YN Wind Dance

  11. How can we not add our congratulations to all those that have gone before us? Well done - we hope that we will not add too many grey hairs!
  12. Yep there are a few of these - mainly the fault of the Demarcation Board, who do not have the county/provincial boundaries synchronised. And in the case of Wind Dance, the country/province and ocunty borderlines are not in synch. Another is the church cache at Van Reenen. There could be more. There are also some coastal caches which to not belong to a province or municipal district because they are "out to sea". To correct these border lines is a manual exercise - quite a lengthy (and horrible) one. I am busy with it. PT OK. Thanks
  13. I have run the Macro FindStatGen3.gsk and have found the following four discrepancies in Counties. GC166YN Wind Dance = Lesotho cache - County listed as Sisonke being a KZN county The folowing three are North West Caches and listed as West Rand County which are not are the current list of Counties. GCQ1V1 Danie Theron Memorial GC1K326 Mining Series 5 - "Great Lion" GC1NC20 Leslie Williams Memorial + Apologies for posting this on the forum, but was not sure as to who would make these corrections.

Baie dankie.... Ons sien julle hou ons dop!
  15. Congratulations to Paddawan for completing his matrix - well done! We also had the privilege of bumping into him (and his two boys) at the South African Fizzy Challenge cache just after he had signed the log! How's that for co-incidence! It was such a beautiful day in CT so us as Team iPajero decided to visit this cache as only N had been there in the mist when he found the FTF with Zambeziboy.

Congratulations Technonut on your big 1500, on one of our caches.
  17. This stat seems to count the number of characters in the HTML file rather than the actual number of characters in the cache listing. I had a look at the "longest" cache listing - it's only about 11,000 characters long, but there are large chunks of superfluous HTML code that pushes the character count up to over 70,000. Somehow I don't think there is a way to easily count the number of characters in the actual cache text... but hopefully I'm wrong! Edit: I'm probably wrong: how would you even define the character count in Gardens Puzzler 2? Lots of code to make the crossword, which results in a very "short" listing. In today's age of paperless caching our GPS' seem to have a problems with such long listings. Neither the Montana 650 or the Garmin 550 caters for so many characters. We did an earthcache yesterday and fortunately before we set off checked to see if we could read the questions. Needless to say we had to right them down!

  22. Thank you Jors, this has sorted out my problem. Have also done a few pocket queries and it does not revert back to the "old" Province name.
  23. When using the macro FindStatGen3.gsk version 4.1.15 I get an error message saying "you have an unrecognized South African State name in your database" being KwaZulu-Natal. All KZN caches are listed as the aforementioned. Is there a macro I can run that will fix this or is there an alternative way to fix?
