  1. Well I survived the trip but my feet are still recovering. Decided to pull out the big old hiking boots I haven't used for a few years. Big mistake and my feet paid the price. Still it was an amazing trip. Had to wear sandals to work for a few days but hey - it's summer. Here are some pics of the trip Yoho Lake along the trail to the Burgess Shale Glacier view in the distance along the trail At the quarry - still snow in late July. Emerald Lake can be seen in bottom left My trilobite coin taking in the view Up close with a distant cousing from the Burgess Shale A reminder that the trail to the Burgess Shale is closed except for guided tours An amazing day. If you are ever in the area and interested in going on the hike, just look up Parks Canada and Yoho National Park. You can also try the Burgess Shale Foundation. They have a website and can also be found on Facebook. Happy Caching.
  2. I'm very excited as I get to hike up to the Burgess Shale Walcott quarry tomorrow. They are guided hikes but anyone can sign up. It's a long day - about 20 kilometers (12 miles) and about 2500 vertical feet up. Totally worth it and I will trty to remember to post some photos here of the day. Happy Caching to all.
  3. E-mail sent. I love the First Nations artwork and the fact that it is a BC coin. Beautiful and complex design.
  4. A haiku it's not But a tear came to my eye How can this be true Fourteen is my son A cacher, he is as well But a poet - huh? Perhaps his Mom's side It's certainly not from me Top marks for this one He likes geocoins Maybe not quite like I do Is his poem worthy? ....................................... Ode to the Ocean The lovely light turquoise blue I see some fish, they are all from you The cooling water, wet on my skin Something breaks the surface, but it's just a fin A salty taste upon my tongue That salty taste just like dung Your wonderful wafting windy breeze You could even smell it if you pleased The crashing and tinkling of waves on the shore A sound so beautiful, it could stop a war Thank you, ocean my time is done Now I shall start wrting my ode to the sun Written by A Danish _______________________________________ We loved the poem, as C-side Girl and I both miss the ocean, living here in Calgary, Alberta. I don't actually think he has tasted dung Great cointest - thanks.

  8. We saw a sample on the verandah of the Yellow House in Murfreesboro during GW-VII - WOW!! It is a beauty and worth the wait. We are originally from BC so love collecting all the BC coins.
  9. I covered myself in Ivy at the MGM Event after GW-VII hoping to attract the Greenman - I think I just scared him off though!! Actually, I almost scared myself!! Great looking coin - I saw one being raffled off at the Florida Cachers event on the Friday night.
  10. This is a gorgeous coin - from the pictures I could just tell. Well now I can say that is even more beautiful holding it in my hand. A Wishing Coin Koi swam into my hands at the MGM Event after Geowoodstock VII. It is a beauty and I'm very happy to have one to enjoy. Thanks!!
  11. At the Midnight Geocoin Madness - and Madness it was!!! Hanging out at Snoogans table and chatting with the masses. A bright multi-coloured light seemed to light up the area and upon checking my suitcase I found a black "Pot O Gold" coin. Very cool and very Geo_Leprechaun like - he certainly is a sneaky fellow. Thanks very much!! As an aside - I vow not to eat at KFC ever again (can't say I've eaten there many times anyways). Booting/towing cars and trying to extort money from several geocoiners - shame!!
  12. Sarah, those are TRES Sweet!!! Hoping an ancient sea creature is worthy of a trade at GW.
  13. A gorgeous set of Guardians of the Night dreamcatchers. They look amazing. It may take a while to decide which one I like best...for now I will go with - 'all of them'! Thanks for the trade Tambe
  14. Trade made for one of these cuties! Thanks.

  16. Turtles for Trilobites???? Anyone? Awesome looking turtles, but I couldn't get in front of a computer for the feeding frenzy. I'm going to GW-VII if anyone wants to trade there. Thanks and great looking turtles Tsun.
  17. Landsharkz may make another 'batch' of LS Versions. Keep an eye on their website. In the Calgary Herald Today, there is a big article on the Burgess Shale. Very interesting historical look back on the discovery and importance of this amazing fossil discovery - 100 years later. http://www.calgaryherald.com/Technology/Ce...8063/story.html
  18. A wonderful package arrived Friday from usyoopers!! Thanks very much for the awesome looking Wherigo coin. It's a big one!! Great Mission and looks like everyone is having fun!! Thanks Mousekakat
  19. A big box of trilobites (250) arrived on our doorstep this afternoon. We hope to bring a bunch down to GW-VII for trade and sale and I've got some trades and sale requests to go through over the next few days Three of the versions are 50 coin versions - no more of those will be minted.
  20. Awesome coins!! But that's no pathtag (they all have holes in them). That is either a micro coin or some other type of SWAG! That's a "Beaver Tag" -nontrackable, made for us by Landsharkz. We send them out with trades and drop in caches that we've enjoyed.
  21. Hi there fossil lady. I did let you know I was doing them, although it was quite a while ago. see below... How a bout a trade. I've got 4 versions so let me know if you'd like to do a trade. QUOTE(fossillady @ Aug 9 2008, 09:22 PM) Are you really doing trilobites? I can tell you right now I will take a set. Trilobites would be my favorite fossil. Yes - as much as I like ammonites - C-side Girl's favorite fossils are trilobites. Hoping to get things moving on this project over the next few months.
  22. They're here. ...and available at Landsharkz website (100 LS Versions) They are 60mm x 5mm and look great. Tethys C and C-side Girl have another 250. 100 - Antique Bronze 50 - Black Nickel with Copper Glitter 50 - Black Nickel 50 - Antique Silver with two toned Gold Trilobite Here is a picture that Chris from Landsharkz took of the BN with copper glitter The Burgess Shale lies just west of the BC/Alberta border. There is a great website on the history of the Burgess shale and the area HERE!! Here is a poster celebrating the 100th year since Charles D. Walcott's discovery of the Burgess Shale fossil beds.
  23. $5 - $10 per coin in the package is fine as a value (unless you're shipping many!!) List items as 'game tokens' - sometimes I think they get interested when they see the word 'coin' as part of the contents.
