  1. Instead of introducing multiple possible answers, so the creator can create a scenario in various languages for example or accept more answers when they're similar like: 1,5 and 1.5, they introduced ABCD question, where you don't even have to read it to answer it correctly at the 4th try maximum. Choosing that over the other possibility is so ridiculous for me I'm speechless. I know it's all about the location and the question should be additional, but what's the point of that? So everybody can pass that question, even when he is at home or is not even paying attention to the story? I think we should not head that way
  2. I guess you are talking about the map filter. Clicking on any attributes selects them and filters caches for those that do have those attributes.

Dzisiaj dostałem powiadomienia o nowych skrzynkach sprzed dwóch dni, ale i z końcówki lutego. Chyba system się (lub ktoś go) odetkał
  4. I feel that you start taking this too serious.
  5. "Keep the questions simple. Let the location speak for itself. " <- https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=143&pgid=929 So I would say the spirit of AL is to let them be simple and easy, but that is only a tip.
  6. I faced the same bug the moment when HQ made a white-list of image hosting services allowed on cache pages. I would recommend that you just use an external WISYWYG editor where this problem doesn't occur. That is my workaround, as the built-in editor can only handle basics (i.e. div formatting is not preserved). If you need a recommendation I can send a site I;m using in PM.
  7. It probably could, but as I mentioned in the original post, "none of these was a political fight, these were fights for independency". I think the category of Political Revolutions is focusing on overthrows of political systems, while uprisings were against occupation (invasion in a way), so it's different. On the other hand I would rather fit such waymarks into this category than none, but I think the officers may have a different view on that (or maybe not? ;)). As I said, on some levels it is completely different.
  8. So as I see the category got revived in a way, lumbricus is an officer now and the category owner even published some WM's. Sadly he didn't respond to any of my messages, so I guess the possibility of changing the category in the desired way is currently impossible. Today I was going through photos of mine taken in the last 2 months, some were regarding The Greater Poland Uprising from 1918-1919: This could go into the Non-specific Veteran Memorials right, or maybe Specific Wars Monuments and Memorials, but this wasn't exactly a war. ..and this into the Specific Veteran Memorials (Franciszek Ratajczak). The real question is if this is the desired way to do so? As I said eariler, such events that took place in Poland (and not only Poland), are very important to us as the nation and are the core of our national identity. I think a separate category may be nice but also making it redundant seems just wrong. On the other way such category would then be excluded from the listed above, as it is now with many war-related ones. If anyone has any idea, comment or a proposal to that topic, I will be glad to hear it. If there are still voices that making a new category is not the right way, let be it
  9. As far as I know, you also can use the Adventure request form, despite having already published AL's
  10. I've also run into this bug. This seems like a new feature released to soon. You can always get into your favorite list right here: https://www.geocaching.com/p/default.aspx?tab=lists#profilepanel
  11. Some time passed and the topic seems to be ignored, I hope it's not.
  12. Is there any chance creation of AR caches as Mystery Caches will be again possible in the future?
  13. The feedback sounds promising, so I guess the app is going to launch in the near future. As and android user I can only envy all of you who are able to use this app. I guess there is not other way than get my hands on any iOS device right?
  14. I had the same problem since I started Waymarking, a few months ago. I've even contacted the creator, but got no answer.
  15. Nearly all issues you had should not happen. Q1: The app is assuming the first interesting spot for you, is the nearest one. You just need to unclick it and choose a different one. How is that fighting with the app? I mean okay, it can be a little annoying when you decide on a completely different route, but it would not influence my experience at all. Q2: The owner sets the fence radius. When the owner sets it to the minimum (which is 20 meters) it is sometimes hard to get into the zone. But that is not really AL's fault overall, it was a decision made by the owner. I can agree that it would be nice to have some more info in the creator to let the owner know, that if the stage is in a city for example, people may find it hard to get into the zone because of the small fence radius combined with poor GPS signal. before Q3: When entering a zone, your phone will vibrate to let you know of that. Check if your phone is not blocking anything because this sounds odd. Q3 + above: That's exactly what you can do and I can't understand why you couldn't do it. I did at least one scenario which was in the middle of a forest and I also had the same issue, but the app remembers that you were on the spot and lets you answer later. The only real problem here is, that with no cellular data, when answering wrong you get: "Wrong answer", and when it's correct you get: "Network problem" instead of an information: "Your answer is fine, but you need internet connection". But even with the current version it's easy to get used to that and understand what the app is telling you. It may be the case that you run into a bug here, but I can only assume that. Maybe you clicked a different location or you overlooked something. Three times yes! The app only looks great, but on the inside it's nearly empty. Nevertheless app usage isn't hard it just takes a moment to get used to it. I think you just don't understand the app yet and it's influencing your experience way too much. Give it a little more time, try a different scenario and let us know
  16. It was possible at some point in the past, but now it's not. The only way to do that is with the feature of adoption. I would say it is. The point of creating caches (for me) is to have fun and give fun to others. The moment you create a cache and instantly claim the FTF makes no sense. Of course officially FTF's are not a thing, but even in the Geocaching App, when there are no logs on a cache, there is a message: "Nobody logged it yet, go grab the FTF!" (or similar, I'm using different language settings). So it is safe to say that this is a big part of geocaching and the community takes it serious in a way. Taking the fun from others because of... something, is in this circumstances just harmful. Personally I was a witness and/or a part of caches created on the spot. Everyone involved signed the logbook next to the author and let space for the first finder. Because that's the point.
  17. Filling this D/T/X rating would take forever, 729 combinations instead of 81 - wow, and would provide very experienced cachers with a lot of fun
  18. In addition to the post above: If you decide to block someone, don't unblock him later on, cause then you lose the possibility to block him in the future. I used this feature once and experienced such a bug, when I was not quite sure about the "blocking" thing - unblocked and blocked later the 2nd time, the messages were not blocked at all from this person.
  19. Maybe it was a virtual cache requiring visiting a lot of places and this person just accomplished this in meantime. I'm sure it could look similar in my case many times, as I log challenges, i.e., after 1 year of grabbing the cache, because I just managed to fulfill all requirements.
  20. You can install GC Little Helper II (a browser addon https://github.com/2Abendsegler/GClh). With it, your draft page is gonna look this way: With the red I marked an additional button which the extension adds, which is a link to the cache page.
  21. It may be that there are several variants of this survey and not everyone is getting the same questions and fields. Either I skipped something by accident or I just had no place for suggestions
  22. With acquiring I understand you mean adoption. There is nothing disrespectful with offering help with maintenance of a cache and no reasonable owner would argue with that. If a cache is unmaintained and the owner is no longer interested in keeping it alive, there are several options of what can happen: – owner finds a cacher interested in maintaining it and this cacher can adopt the cache, – someone from the local community feels it's right to keep this cache alive and he contact's the owner by himself so the cache adoption process can be started, – the owner can't find or he's not willing to find anyone for his geocache so he archives it to free room for new ones, – the owner is inactive (no contact with him is possible), after some time the cache may be archived by the reviewer. More information about the adoption process itself can be found here: https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54
  23. Your cache is there: https://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?u=Lucasw805 Try to re-log or delete cookies in your browser.
  24. True, but it's also not possible for everyone and I think that it's really hard to do. You have to learn on your own mistakes and gain more experience. Huge effort isn't going to help if you don't know the basics. My first cache was not a disaster, but it was a micro-magnetic which was not actually showing anything. I still think it was good to create it, because I learned how the owners webpanel looks like, what are the options and so on. With time I combined the knowledge I gained and after I guess 1.5 year I started making better caches, which people liked. Being hyped and having the thing stuck in your head, that "my cache should be awesome, good and great", we would have 75% less caches in the world I don't recommend starting with god knows what, but with a standard cache which is not unpleasant for the finder. Not being hyped is also very important, to be objective.
