  1. I now use a BlackBerry with CacheBerry software, works fine for spontaneous caching trips. I did have a HP Pocket PC running Beeline GPS and sync'ed it with Geocaching Swiss Army Knife (GSAK). GSAK also works brilliantly with my GPSr for more organised caching trips. I always found Beeline GPS an excellent piece of software.
  2. When I first created my Caching ID I didn't know that it would become my 'name' and so I chose my surname and initials. Unfortunately my surname isn't easy to pronounce correctly (Bouskill) and so, after a year ago I changed it to The Caching Vicar. I love caching, I'm a vicar (Church of England Priest) So know you know.
  3. Hi, I stumbled onto the forums looking for an answer to an acronym in a log and came across this topic. Having not found the answer I was looking for could you furnish me the the answer to: What is an ALR? As it is now illegal it sounds dangerous and alluring... Now back to the topic in hand... My simple thought is "Don't hide where you wouldn't search" for me there are enough people similar to myself who hide caches I like to search for, and there are enough people out there who like hiding caches I'd never even try - but they still hide them, and others find them.
  4. I've got a Blackberry Curve 8900 and have recently downloaded Cacheberry for it. I went out today and everything worked great. Complete paperless caching and the GPS worked great too. My only problem is using quite an expensive piece of tech, and one that isn't waterproof, as my main caching GPSr. but as a backup to the Garmin Vista it's a great way of having all the information of the cache on hand, and the internet only a click away.
  5. Someone please help. I'm another newbie with the same problem. Got a Pocket PC (Ipaq 4355) and just got a Navman GPSr. The software that came with the GPSr only works for road navigation. I need software on the Pocket PC that I can enter waypoints, lat/long co-ordinates and generally use as an off-road, hiking GPSr. I found my first cache today, a bit of a cheat as my next door neighbour told me about Geocaching over the Christmas break and also told me where to find this cache. Please help, some (cheap or free) software to help me would be appreciated
