  1. Doing a bit of a punt i work for an outdoor store that may be a warehouse as well. I have done many ppls upgrades and dont c any reason why u would not want to upgrade, as mentioned above it is a simple process that just requires the R50 dvd and then following the instructiuons. Used the new maps in Crystal Faires last race and found them helpful. Topo maps would be perfecty for caching but do require extra moola. I have not seen the new Topo and road maps but TeamTGF told me that it was not a huge amount above the Normal 1.5 maps Any more assistance most stores should be able to help, some will even do it for u and load firmware updates and speed cams as well, hope this helps. Or if ur tech savy DIY
  2. Most geocachers are not competative until it comes to a FTF though ! I enjoy the race formate as i am naturaly a competative person but i agree that the spirit of geocaching is getting out in nature and discovering new places
  3. I will say that i will try to make it to the event hopefully accomapanied by teamTGF as usual. This is a really nice area so good for sum adventuous cachers as well. The whole non sport issue is raised by ppl who think that unless a ball is involved it does not count. Ignor it as they are the ones who miss out
  4. I am leaving next saturday, so far i only have once travel bug and an SA geocoin to take over. Can anyone help me out with sum trackables to take over, send me a PM if u do
  5. Leave on the 7th of july
  6. I too am going to sweden soon, not as far north as bjbez though but still willing to help with most of the journey
  7. I wonder if it is so hard to get co-ord more accurate. Leave the reciever for a while or take a few readings and average them, this is pretty good as the first is normally off by a few meters. Some caches 2 m can make a differece, it all depends on the complexity of the terain. I will always carry a cell phone for that very reason though, others may be smarter than u when it comes to finding cache
  8. I too will be going to europe. I will be in Sweden from the 7th of july. Any1 who would like a hand in moving some trackables just send me a message.
  9. Race was lots of fun Thanks to CrystalFairy and all the sponsor who made the event possible. It was nice to meet some of the caches who i have not seen before but unfortunatly i could not stay for day2

  12. As the title says this is a place to list ur fav. caches that u have visited in sa. I would have to say that my favourite was "Grotto" (GCWVE4) by adventure king in Mountain Sanctuary park. The other caches in this area are also really good including west pools.
